NIU Bowl Celebration Planned for Saturday at Convocation Center

All NIU fans, alumni and friends are invited to attend the event, which will take place in the East End of the arena and feature NIU President Dr. John Peters, Head Football Coach Joe Novak, members of the Huskie Football team and representatives from the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

Saturday's game has been designated "Cram the Convo" and tickets are on sale for just $1 each. A ticket to the game will be required for admission to the Poinsettia Bowl celebration. Gates will open at 11:45 a.m. The basketball game tips off at 2 p.m.

Priced at just $35 or $23, tickets for the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, will be on sale at the Convocation Center throughout the afternoon on Saturday. In addition, information on the various travel packages to San Diego being offered by Anthony Travel (http://www.anthonytravel.com) will be available.

Tickets for NIU's second bowl appearance in the last three years can also be ordered through the Northern Illinois Athletics Ticket Office in the Convocation Center Monday through Friday by calling 815-752-6800, or on-line at http://www.niuhuskies.com. Click the "Tickets" link in the left hand column.

The Huskie fan travel packages through Anthony Travel includes lodging at the team hotel, game souvenirs and tickets to special events associated with the bowl. Just our luck to get a forecast for a big snow storm on Friday and screw things up. I wonder if Winthrop will even be able to make it here.

Good point. If they're flying in, that could be a real problem because many flights will be cancelled. If they're coming in by bus, they'll be getting in very late. Thus, they'll be exhauseted, ensuring us of a win!
