I carry a 12 gauge shotgun around campus for protection. This is where the liberals will come in and say that guns will only hurt the problem. The only thing hurt if I have a gun and someone tries to rob me is the guy trying to take my ****, I would have no problem putting the bastard on the ground with a well placed shot to the chest.

im personally against having guns in the home. ive heard way too many stories about people mistaking family members for intruders. besides the fact that if you do lock it away properly, than its not going to do you a whole lot of good if a situation arises. if someone wants a gun in their home, i guess thats their decision. but more than anything i think its for a psychological "peace of mind" than any real good that will come out of it. remember all the people who ran out and bought guns after 9/11, as if somehow it was going to protect them and their family against terrorists?

as far as concealed carry, the thought that someone might be walking around with a gun scares the crap out of me. i dont care who it is. but then again, what does that say about ourselves and our country if we have to resort to that. there are countries in the world that have a lower crime rate than we do where officers dont even carry guns. i have talked to people from european countries who think we're absolute mental nutjobs with all the guns we have floating around.

Jeez, i doubt the average American citizen even has a gun. If we are mental for all the guns we have then what do they think about Canadians? Nearly 1 in 4 Canadians have at least one gun.

Pulling a gun is pointless, its pulling the trigger that does the job.

For some reason even with all the crime going on I still feel safe. I have walked home many times very late at night and have never had a problem and for me to walk home from campus its about a 30-40 minute walk.
