I believe the Motor City opponent this year must be taken by MCB officials, in this order:
1) A 6-6 team from the Big Ten (automatic bid)
if one is not available, then
2) A team with a winning record (does the MCB have to take another MAC team, if that's all there is left?)
if one is not available, then
3) A team with a 6-6 record

With Minnesota needing to beat Iowa and/or Indiana needing to beat Purdue to become bowl eligible. the odds are against the Big 10 having more than 6 bowl eligible teams.

I was wondering if all 7 wins teams have to be gone before any 6 win teams is true. If Ariz gets gets 6 wins, Insight has to take La Laff or Kent. I find hard to believe Insight lets this go by.

Don't bowls get around this by entering into a contract with the conference right before the game.
In fact, I think the MAC entered into contracts late during the season in 2004 with the Silicon Valley and Independence Bowl

I'm pretty sure the NCAA say no to cutting deals the week before the bowls like in years past.
