Not a bad start for the conference.

The 2 losses are by the weakest teams in the conference and the only powerhouse to play so far has been Kent.

anxious to see more of Kent, Akron, Toledo, Miami, WMU, etc.

This conference is going to need to do better against its OOC opponents. If we want multiple bids this season season the MAC needs to dominate OOC play before getting into MAC action.
Pretty good road win for UB over a decent Canisius in a rivalry game. UB has so many young, inexperienced players it was interesting to see how they would perform. Some of the young guys did really well as did Idbihi. Basically they have to hope Idbihi stays healthy this season to have any chance at a good season.
EMU blew a 17-point lead. 03-hissyfit
EMU is definitely a work-in-progress. Very promising backcourt. Real problems at the '4' and '5' spots.

EMU has help on the way up front (injured frosh) and a promising recruit who was signed this week.

EMU will be much improved NEXT season.

This season is a step or two forward.
Toledo has a really tough game against Missouri State. They went 22-9 last year and won their first 2 NIT games before losing to Louisville. They return 7 of the top 9 players on that team and are expected to make the NCAA tournament this year. Last year Missouri State was 14-2 at home and this game is at Missouri State. Tough opener for the Rockets.
Likewise for the Broncos. Opener tomorrow against #4 Pitt.

Ouch! Could be a possible International Bowl matchup between WMU and Pitt too. This could be a warmup, if you will. ;-)
Ball State opens with might UNC (Northern Colorado).

I am intrigued to see a new style of play with Ronny Thompson. I don't how good they will be but they should be fun to watch.

I imagine there will be a lot of full court press and up tempo...
Ohio has an interesting opener today, too, against Marist. The Red Foxes are #17 in the pre-season Mid-Major Top 25 and they have been picked to win their conference. should be a good test of this Ohio squad that is still somewhat of an unknown quantity.
Ball State wins 81-42. It is fun to watch them play. Balls to wall, full court pressure and great team defense.

The big guy is a monster size wise but me at 5'11" could head fake him into a foul. 4 fouls/14 minutes.
Actually EMU is good enough this season to play the spoiler to one or two good teams this year if they gel sooner than later.
THey do have 4/5 problems but can rotate the line and confuse D's and have decent outside shooters that can only get better.
Are they top 8 in MAC? Not yet.
But will they thwack someone they shouldn't? More than likely.
Ohio beats #17 Marist, 83-66!

Bobcats shoot 56% from the field and out-rebound the Red Foxes, 44-26. Solid win for OU over a good mid-major team.

Next up: November 19 at home versus Yale University

That's an amazing disparity in rebounds, considering Marist was the bigger team.

yeah it is. i hope the team uses this win as a springboard into the season. i really think this team will perform better this year without all of the baggage of expectations that were laid on them last year. this is a great start, that's for sure.
Bobcats won a big game today. They were shorthanded. The starters were gonna have to play big minutes, but the Bobcats got great games from Van Kempen and King off the bench. A seven man rotation today for the most part. Bobcats go 18 points from Van Kempen and King and that was the difference. Van Kempen showed that he has some ability. Just his presence made Marist struggle. They didn't have an answer for Williams at pf with KVK and center.
