7 - 7 nearing the end of the first quarter. Terrible weather - very windy, driving rain and cold.

Go Broncos!!
CMU hits a FG with 3:13 left in 2nd quarter.

CMU 10
WMU 7

Both teams scored on their first possession of the game.
Halftime it's 10 - 7 and raining even harder. Very tough conditions.

Broncos will receive the kickoff after half.
Comcast Local reporting in the first half that Kelly (CMU head coach) has ben in negoiations with MSU and that he will be he new MSU coach.

CMU denying it.
Probably because he did it behind the AD's back, if it is for real. Comcast Local says earlier reports are not true.

If it is true, bad form to do this right before the biggest game of the year.
Could be rumors spread by a vast bronco-wing conspiracy????
CMU recovers fumbled attempted forward pass just into 3rd Q. Review upheld it - but that looked like forward progress to me.
Worst call in the storied history of bad MAC officiating. They just can't help but influence the game. Arm was clearly going forward on the replay. Not overturned on review. Short field and CMU scores.

MAC officials - it's all about them. 03-hissyfit

17 - 7 CMU.
24 - 7 CMU. It's all going south for the Broncos. Cubit gets picked. Couple of plays later, Chips catch us in a blitz and Archer goes up the middle for the TD.
My condolences on what I agree was a bad call - but it would be a lot worse for you so far if Sneed was healthy and playing. Of course, it doesn't help that your offense is unable to hold onto the ball - passed or rushed. Lots of drops and wasted plays covering fumbles.
Do you think any visiting fans are still in Kelly-Shorts? CMU 24 - WMU 7, 8:46 remaining. Considering the weather - I think they've all started home.
CMU 31 - WMU 7
4:45 remaining
That's all she wrote. Congrats to the Chips!
My wife and I were there and for the first time in a long, long time we left before the end of the game. We were very cold and soaked even though we had lots of rain gear.

The weather was brutal the entire game. Rain was coming down in sheets at a 45, lots of wind and cold - temps in the high 30s.

Central Michigan actually had a sell out as far as ticket sales are concerned. But the weather kept a few thousand away and by the end of the first half the place was almost empty. What a pity. We had a chance to set a new stadium attendance record but the weather would not cooperate.

In any event, it was a nice win for Central Michigan. I really believe CMU will win the next two and end up 9-3 for the season.
Oh- My prediction that was laughed at early on before the season stands! Heh!

Word here is that both WMU and CMU's coaches are being selected for MSU jobs. One for HC and one for OC/DC. They want both of them. Hate to see that happen.
DC at KSU is also on the list for MSU and some other schools.

AP story says there were more than 30,000 there at the start of the game.

"Attendance at the start was a stadium-record 30,027, but only a sparse crowd remained for the second half."

Is that true, or were they reporting tickets sold?

Too bad the weather couldn't hold out for you.

Congrats on winning the West just the same.
Congrats to CMU. 03-weeping

The outcome is not surprising. CMU seemed to be a bit stronger all season, and our record in Mt. Pee speaks for itself. A bit surprised at the margin, although we posted a similar blowout loss last year at NIU when the MAC West was on the line.

Our bowl chances are simple...

Beat Akron, a possible shot at a bowl.
Lose to Akron, home for the holidays (and deservedly so)

Seems like Saturday football weather has been pure shiite all season across the Midwest. The rain/snow/cold/fog blasts have scheduled themselves on weekends since late September.
