Quote:I just ordered two from the ticket office and was told that we have already sold out our original allotment. What's more, we ordered a few hundred more and have already sold a nice chunk of those. So act now, Bobcats, because it appears an Ohio/Kent game is going to be a tough ticket. And believe me, having been to my share of Ohio games at Kent, both working for the OSN and as a fan, that's a sentence I never thought I'd be writing. Act fast! Quantities are limited! Operators are standing by!

Quote:Just bought 3.

The lady at the ticket office said they're going quickly....
Quote:I think we very easily could outnumber the Kent fans if we try hard.

Very impressive. [Image: rolleyes.gif] I would hope your allotment is sold out since it is only about a 3 hour drive from Athens and I assume many of your alums are in the northern Ohio area.
Yes, I live in Cleveland's east side and I'll be there. Biggest game for Bobcats since 1968 in my opinion. Kent State biggest game in decades as well. This is what MAC needed.....A big time game with post season implications. Winner next week is going to a bowl and probably wins the east. Bobcats 5-3 vs Golden Flashes 5-2.....MAC East showdown is set at Dix next week. Bobcats 3 game win streak vs Kent State 5 game win streak.
We're not going to outnumber the Kent State fans. Just isn't going to happen.

However, the older population of Bobcat fans should make a strong showing.

Students aren't going to be going up there on the night of the Halloween celebration, though. Ain't happening.
Well, we are still waiting for the much touted Bobcats hoops team to show up from last season.

i don't think Halloween will keep those students away who really want to go to Kent. besides, they can do both. the game would be over by 5:00, a drive back to Athens would put them back in town by 8:00 or so, just when the festivities are beginning. i don't think the two are mutually exclusive.

the OU athletic department is sending a busload of students to Miami on Sunday for the OU-Miami volleyball game. i'm thinking they might make a similar arrangement for Saturday's game at KSU.

certainly we won't have more fans than Kent State, but i'm betting we'll have more visiting fans than any other team KSU has hosted this year.
Well, all are welcome. And after the game, feel free to overestimate by 3x or 4x the number you actually brought. That's what Akron does. ;-)

axeme, do you mean OU fans might exaggerate? 04-jawdrop

And here I thought you were smarter than the Akron fans who try to use one sport to talk smack in another sport.
The sport doesn't seem to matter. The first thing that opens for Ohio fans is the chest thumping. It's just that their teams can't seem to back up the Bobcats yapping fans.

Men's basketball in 2005-06 is just the latest example. But it does raise a question. How was the NIT?
Here kitty kitty kitty... 04-chairshot 05-mafia 02-13-banana

GO FLASHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is my Chad Johnson Guarantee:

Bobcats 21 Kent State 17

Yes, the party will be starting early in Athens Saturday. 04-rock
Why bother going to Athens when the party will be in downtown Kent? GO FLASHES!
Man, I can't wait for this game. Both teams seem similar in that they both have dominating defenses and offenses that run based in their ground attacks. Hey Flashes, how good are your special teams this year? Ours can definitely be considered a strength. Lasher playing very solid for us and Garrett getting big gains on the returns. You guys looking strong there too?

Are you trying to say that we didn't have cause to talk? We were the defending tournament champs. I'd apologize that we're enthusiastic about our teams, but... I'm not sorry. I'm not saying we're going to march into Dix and mop up the field with you, but I am saying we've had a great season thus far. Deal with it.

Right now, Ohio teams are in position to win the conference in football, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, and cross country. We have reason to be proud right now.
Kent is something like 2 of 7 on field goals this year and have missed two extra points.

Their punter averages 35 yards per punt.

Lasher is averaging 40 yards per punt and has dropped TWENTY punts inside the twenty this year. OU's opponents have only had five inside the twenty against them.

Chris Garrett is averaging 16 yards per punt return and has taken one to the house.

I think special teams couls come up huge in this game.
If you got all your facts right it looks like special teams will definitely be an area that we have to execute in to win.

Kent has a very good D and our offense isn't exactly overwhelming our opponents.

And right now, our teams HAVE WON the last men's basketball, regular season baseball and men's and women's golf trophies. We are in first place to your second in MAC East football.

Yet, you're doing all the talking.

Oh yes, you are right FF, we are just talking up a storm. Just let us bobcat fans know when it is okay to get behind our teams okay? 01-wingedeagle
