Hey all, I don't know if this has been discussed before, or in what detail, but a friend and I recently counted the conference affiliations of current starting NFL QBs, and it sort of panned out like this:
(Conferences used were the ones the players' schools were in when they played, e.g. Pennington played for Marshall when they were in the MAC and Vick played for VT when they were in the Big East).

PAC-10: 7
MAC: 5
Big East: 4
Big Ten: 3
SEC: 3
ACC: 2
C-USA: 2
Div IAA (SWAC): 1
Div II (NCC): 1
Big 12: 1
Sun-Belt: 1
Mountain West: 1
WAC: 1

(Please keep in mind that this is also based on QBs that currently start). We thought it was kinda cool that the 2nd most amount of current NFL starting QBs competed in the MAC. Should bode pretty well for future MAC QB recruits hoping to one day play in the NFL. :)
Just read MAC Report Online and you will be able to dazzle your friends with your MAC knoweldge. ;-)

It came up in a recent thread as well. The question is, who might be the next MAC QB to do well or even play in the NFL? OR have we reached the end of an amazing run of guys?

There might be a little low in MAC QB's, but then it is going to surge again. CMU's freshman QB, Kent's sophomore QB (as a Cribbs/Randle El type), NIU's Dan Nicholson (you will see when Horvath is gone next year), and UT's freshman Aaron Opelt all have a a chance to be part of a new wave of MAC QB's.

For as much as I wish you were right, I just don't see it.

Ball State's Nate Davis has to be included in the discussion.

Right, sorry to exclude him. He definitely should be in that group.
