ESPN ran an intresting graphic last nite.....comparing Confrence USA vs Sunbelt in head to head competetion this year. As of right now the two are 3-3 against each other and are scheduled to meet in a bowl game. I just got a kick out of it, ESPN putting them on same level, thought it was kinda funny.
Here's your official ESPN graphic for ULL/FAU:

UNT beat SMU.

SMU beat Marshall.

Apparently, Marshall couldn't handle a real southern conference.
So I saw the score show up on the ticker on another channel and one team was winning 6-0 in the 4th quarter. Is that how it ended? Do they really consider that football?
I saw that graphic, it was pretty funny. I didn't realize that was the case, but what an embarassment for C-USA.

Yes the game did end 6-0. I watched most of the 4th quarter. The FAU quarterback literally threw the ball like a girl. Wow, our fans have been very critical of Phil Horvath, but Horvath would look like Joe Montana next to this guy. Awful!!!

Actually, the end of the game was exciting. FAU drove in the last 2 minutes and had one last shot at about the 8 yard line with :02 left. The ball was batted away by a diving DB in the end zone to preserve the victory. It was great play, but the receiver was horribly underthrown.

Having said that, FAU's stadium literally looks like an average size high school stadium, and the place was a 1/3 full if they were lucky.

I know the Sun Belt must be happy to have a game televised nationally, but I don't think their conference gained much at all from last night's telecast.
Living in Boca Raton this schools football will depend on the stadium issue. They are trying to get funding for a stadium ( corpoate sponsoring is a big part).

They play at a H.S stadium in Fort Lauderdale that looked miserable on TV. The two start up schools down here FIU and FAU are on slippery footings.

Schnellenberger just looks to be funding his retirement at this time, as well. FAU will go nowhere to the stadium issue gets fixed and Howard collects his retirement.

It is BAD BAD football right now. FIU is a much better scool, though for football.
GTS sent links to these over. Probably the best part of the game

Is this where Owen and blah get their avatars from? ;-)
Man, that camerman must have looked like perve. I can see him knelt down with that camera planted right under her breasts.....

Thank you Mr. Cameraman.
That game was terrible. I don't know why they picked a game at FAU to televise nationally. My understanding is that thier stadium is not on campus and not really in that convienient a location for thier students and fan base. The belt has improved a lot this year but that game did not in any way shape or form showcase that improvement. A real missed opportunity.

I watched it for a few minutes while flippin channels, the stadium look like it held 15K max and about 5K showed up. If CUSA is 3-3 playing this level of competition, they must be one sorry conference. lmfao

Thank you Mr. Cameraman.

They had to show something to bring in ratings, the quality or lack thereof on the field was a major 03-yawn
WKU should really consider if it wants to join this league. The Gateway plays a higher level of football than this 03-yawn
WKU should really consider if it wants to join this league.

A. I don't think that this particular game represented the belt well.

B. WKU wasn't invited to the MAC (or any other conferences). So it really doesn't matter if we reconsider. If the Sunbelt is really this bad (I don't think it is) then hey maybe we can win it right out of the gate.

And this level of football is significantly better?

Temple 3, Buffalo 9

I do not believe the above reflects the state of MAC football any more than the one game you guys are focusing upon reflects the state of SBC football. Chit happens!
