If a starter at another position had two games in a row like the current QB would he still start the next game? Why is the QB getting a pass and not being held to the same standard as the players at the other positions?

Dear Joe -
Garrett Wolfe had a below average game at Miami Ohio and a poor game at Western Michigan. Who will be his replacement and the new starting RB for the Temple Game? Also, please explain Doug Free, your possible first round NFL Draft pick, continued start at tackle, considering that he has given up a number of sacks over the last few weeks.
Sincerely, your nutso fans

Have you ever heard of comparing apples to oranges? Have you actually watched NIU play? Does Garrett Wolfe have a guy that took us to our 1st MAC Championship in school history sitting behind him?
Lord Stanley Wrote:NIU has a rather proud tradition of RBs. Why not change things up with a horse like Cas Prime? He has quite a pedigree and has had good sucess when given an opportunity.
That would be stupid, but the point is this - it's a team game through and through. Never is one person responsible for a loss or win. At WMU, if Wolfe had 350 yards and 3 TD, Horvath's interceptions are a side note to the win. If Wolfe had 20 yards and no TD, but Horvath throws for 3 TD and we win, Wolfe's yards are a side note to the win. If Wolfe and Horvath struggle, and Davis returns two punts for TD, the struggles of Wolfe and Horvath are side notes to the win. Everyone has responsibilities in a team game.
Many of you have annointed Nicholson the second coming to solve all problems. You all watch, should Nicholson start he'll have no more success than Horvath, because the entire team is stuggling. Neither Horvath or Nicholson can throw if the line can't protect, neither Horvath or Nicholson can throw completions if the receivers can't catch. I'm not arguing against a change at QB, just a realistic assesment of what the issues are at NIU football.
So it's not apples to oranges since all fruit have to work together to win.

You're wrong.

If he is a senior, yes he would still be around. One of the reasons why every football parent wants their kid to play for Joe. Loyalty at the expense of victory. Loyalty to the fans just doesn't count.

Loyalty at the expense of victory will eventually destroy your program. Alumni who donate smaller amounts of money consistently, which is actually more important that the larger one time gifts, will eventually stop donating.
