i hope they keep G Wolfe in the top 5 though
I wouldn't count on it.
I'm pretty sure the majority of the national media was just waiting for GW to have a bad game so they could "finally" write him off the Heisman candidate list... well sadly now they have a reason to
Yeah but you can't say he'll stay out of the race. It's still likely for him to have a hell of a season. Another BSU performance against Temple and he's right back on track.

Don't expect the media to be impressed with a monster game against Temple. After all, it will only support the claims that "GW only does good against weak competition"

It all depends on the Iowa game basically and maybe CMU since they are leading the MAC west
The Heisman run is finished. Just forget about it, it will make your life easier. It was nice while it lasted, but Wolfe is out of it. Nothing will change that.
So if Wolfe breaks the single-season record and puts up at least 150 against Iowa you're saying he has no shot? If (and its a big if at this point) those scenarios play out it won't be any different than what we had to expect before the WMU game. One bad game amidst 11 other great ones will not take him out of the race completely. He may drop out of the list at this point, but if he's close to the record he will climb back up.
He's not breaking Barry Sanders record either. At least not with the team he has currently backing him.
I agree... I think the run is done for the trophy.

At least we still get to see him in the remainder of the season... so big deal if he's not a front runner for the Heisman... he's fun as hell to watch still.

GW said it himself, he was never running for it anyways.
its just too bad that he's NIUs most obvious weapon. and that the QB sucks so hard that he has only one more passing TD, then he has INTs (7td, 6ints... but that "pass" to gw at osu was all wolfe and not horvath).

Agreed, however I think he can still get to NYC if he picks things back up.
Here's one thing to ponder...the media doesn't like to be wrong. I was waiting for everyone to write him off after one bad game, but with the sudden interest in Wolfe and all the features written and produced about him, something tells me the media might be more patient than we/I originally thought. Those who have taken the time to feature Wolfe have something invested in him now. They don't want to be wrong just a week or two later. Look, the idea of him winning the Heisman was a long-shot to begin with, so it's not a big loss, but I don't expect everyone to jump off the band wagon...especially in a season where there's not a lot of people distinguishing themselves for the award.
It certainly doesn't appear they're favoring him.

He's down to a tie for 5th place in the voting and has only 7 points. He's WAY off the radar from the top guys now.
