Here is what we should do.

Fill a Brinks truck up with money.
Put in Scott Schafer's driveway.
Tell him the Defense is his.
Give Denny a watch and tell him to have a nice retirement.

WMU played the "Attack 4-3" the way it should be played. Not only did he know what NIU was going to do, but had his kids in a position to execute.

I agree that we were outcoached. They knew what we were going to do and we did exactly that. We were too slow in making changes and got killed.

We made changes? I must have missed that play. Did WMU steal our playbook? 05-stirthepot

Of course Shafer knew what we were going to do. He was apart of this team 3 years ago, and how much has this offense of ours really changed? We don't use trickery, options, or ever really mix it up. We obviously need to start doing some things different on offense to try to spark it back up. Our offense has played crappy two games in a row now and it has been our defense that won or kept us in both of these games.

How well did his "Attack 4-3" work last year in DeKalb when we scored 42 and Garrett ran for 270 yards? 05-stirthepot
Our play book is hand off to Garrett Wolfe. Not too difficult to know. The problem is, how do you attack Garrett. WMU did not have8-9 in the box. They allowed their safeties to flow to the ball. This strategy did not allow Garrett his usual big plays. Once Garrett is in the open field, he is the toughest player in college to bring down. When you play 8-9 in the box, once he finds a seem, he is gone. with the safeties coming forward, they can see the play better

You are going to use his first year installing a defense as a measuring stick? Are you serious?????????????
We have great linebackers and safeties which were not attacked ultimately letting them run free. Our linemen contained your linemen taking the blocks and holding them allowing the LB's and safeties to attack. We were not really concerned w/your passing games. You did not hurt us w/your TE's until late and that was where we thought we'd get stung but by that time you abandoned GW and all was lost.

Ultimately, our ball control passing game that held onto the ball so much the 1st half was amazing. You only had 14 plays the 1st half. That has to be close to a record. Defense is ez when you are not on the field.

GW is still scary knowing he can break one at any time. Hes special enjoy it while you have it. I know we are not going to see another Greg Jennings in Kzoo soon.

We had Dan at QB so they had to defense the pass as well.

Um, yes actually I am. Is there a problem with that? 01-wingedeagle

We played them in GAME 11 last year. For WMU, it's only been 5 games since they played us last year.

Are you kidding me?? Dan threw 13 passes in that game. There were 30 mph winds, everyone knew we were going to run the ball all day.
I know when Schafer left here he said he hoped he could come back someday!I think he meant as head coach! ;-)
