Weather Forces Postponement of UB Football Game Versus Miami (OH)

BUFFALO, NY
UB is a bunch of chickens...they clearly did not want to face the powerhouse that is Miami. They even came up with a large snow storm to get the game posponed.

BTW there is a hint of sarcasm in this email....
Since when are football games cancelled due to snow? When I was young my right arm fell off while playing a game and when the trainer reattached it at halftime he put it on backwards with my palm facing outward, but by God I finished the game. Plus, the field was up hill, both ways and we played in five feet of snow barefoot. Men were men then. Yada, yada, yada.

Replay game Sun if possiable at 4:00, maybe espn runs double header. 8:00 Boise St blow out & they switch games. Mon night wheather turns nice & ESPN2 picks it up. No other dates avaiable until nov 30, would double header in Ford Field work if ESPN shows both games.
I agree, it should be moved to Sun night as a national telecast.!

Anyway, i hope people realize it's more than a little snowstorm. The property damage, gasoline shortages, power line damage and power outages are more like a cat 2 hurricane hitting a big city. I spoke to my folks this morning. Since very few people have power and the snow is melting fast....the sump pumps can't run. Many Thousands of homes are flooding. It's really a mess. If they do play football, it will be to just get the game in,,,,no fans will really be able to get out.
to the best of my knowledge the game has no bearings on standings and I don't believe either team can realistically get to 6 wins.

just pretend that there is an 11-game schedule ala '05.
It matters to the boys who practice and dress up for the game.
Mother nature hasn't been kind to Miami for the last few years and it's hurt us a bit.
According to Miami's Web site, the game is being played tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:00pm.
Finding a vid cast or internet radio cast is going to be dificult as it's in middle of prime time afternoon NFL and UB shared some stations locally with the Bills.
Don't even know if there will be a Gamecast for this game.

We're going to need folks at the site updating via phone and PDA's.
According to BuffaloBulls.com there will be no fans allowed at the game tomorrow due to the campus being closed and the driving ban in Amherst!
from the release:

Quote:The University at Buffalo Amherst campus remains closed and we are asking our fans to respect the driving bans in the town of Amherst and the surrounding communities. UB appreciates the understanding of Bulls fans in this unusual situation.

Tickets for the game, originally scheduled for Oct. 14, will be honored. General admission seating will be in effect in the west grandstands only.

Apparently they'll honor the tickets, but are requesting that people not break the driving ban in order to get there. So you can put on your snowshoes or get in your canoe (depending on if there's more snow or water at that point) and still go.

Also, it sounds like only one side of the stadium will be open...
So will that mean there will be fewer fans there than usual?

(Just kidding UB fans--I don't do attendance smack for real. Too busy cleaning the glass in my house.)
The best thing about this is that Miami (IN) goes winless for at least one more day.

Why is everyone so happy about Miami winless? It hurts the conference you crazies! It's not like Ohio U. can handle a top 25 finish, and a superbowl QB. ;-)

it's the same thing as when the Yankees went down in the first round this year. it's fun to hate the arrogant teams when they lose! 02-13-banana
This sets up perfectly for a nice UB win. They do their best when no one is in the stands to see it. Ball St was the game they really needed. Lot's of students and locals attended that one, and they fell flat on their faces.

The driving ban is really for no unnesessary travel and will be lifted by 6am Sun morning at most places. My folks drove today and they live in Amherst.
