Illinois blew a big lead and lost to Indiana today. This could be the matchup that Ohio needs to get a key win and get closer to a bowl bid. Getting a road BCS win would match WMU, Akron and Toledo. Who has a BCS OOC win could be the difference in the Third MAC bowl selection.
Please beat them! I got a good laugh out of the ILLness today, but i would be very ecstatic if you beat the ILLness.

we're sure as heck gonna try to beat 'em! now, you guys go out and beat Miami tonight! 04-rock
Ohio has to beat Illinois next week for conference pride and respectability after IL lost at home to IN who lost to 1AA SIU at home. I still can't believe IN beat WMU & BSU (on the road)! 03-hissyfit
Give the Illness a beating
a week ago, i would have said our chances were slim at winning against Illinois. now that we have found some confidence from beating WMU and Illinois HAS to be down after blowing a 25-7 lead against IU, I'd say our chances of wnning are at least 50/50 if not better.

and the Marching 110 will be there to give the team a boost! if my memory serves me correctly, the last time we won a road game against a BCS school was 2004 at Kentucky and the 110 was at that game too!

GO OHIO!

BEAT ILLINOIS!
Which ever team is more motivated will take this game.....

Ohio has the defense to pull off a victory here.
Illinois all-time vs the MAC 10-2, but is only 2-2 vs Ohio
1950 last meeting
Bobcats last won in 1938.

Bobcats have never scored more than 6 points vs Illinois.

MAC hasn't beaten a Big Ten team since 2003.

MAC is 0-13 vs Big Ten this year.

Solich is 0-1 vs the Big Ten at Ohio.
Rutgers shutout the ILLness. However, they didn't shutout Ohio. You guys should be able to beat them. Please, whatever you guys did against us and Western Michigan, do more of the same. I really don't care to hear the Ohio beat NIU and ILLinois beat Ohio, so ILLinois would beat NIU analogies.

Yeah, but apparently ILLinois has upped their game since then dispite their closing minute loss to Indiana last weekend and have also found a performer at quarterback, but we will see what we can do. I, like all bobcat fans, want to beat them because they are Big Ten, but I also actually want to beat them for NIU. I respect you guys as a team and an opponent. Our last two games have been good ones and I look forward to our next meeting. So, I hope we beat them for your and the conference's sake. 04-chairshot

Ohio has far ore talent than Illinois.

Wow, who thought we'd be saying that a few years ago?

The unfortunate part for the "Illness" is that after Ohio is done waxing Illinois, Ohio STATE comes to town in a few weeks. Pray for Zook.
Sorry to burst any bubbles, but I don't think any of us MACsters should be overconfident toward the prospects of beating the Illini. After all, we couldn't even defeat mediocore Indiana, Purdue, or Northwestern. Why the assumption Illinois is going to bend over at home?

Incidentally, I do hope Ohio gets a win. But it's anything but a given.
Way to go OU!!! It sounded great on the radio in Meigs County!
