Just talked to the BSU ticket office about ordering a ticket to the game, and basically said to pick it up at the gate tomorrow and not even order on the phone. From what I could tell, it sounds like it will be a friends and family type attended game from the Ball State side. This could be under 10k in attendance.
I was told the same thing Tuesday oflast week. The guy at the box office sounded extremely depressed.

As depressing as their football attendance is, i would take their basketball attendance in a heartbeat. They are very good supporters of basketball in Muncie.

Maybe we might be surprised by a good walk up crowd. I think they like to come see the Huskies in Muncie. Back 5 to 10 years ago when Ball State had some decent basketball teams, we always seemed to play them tough in Muncie, and I think their fans respected NIU for always giving their basketball teams fits.
we may have occasionally played the birdies tuff in Muncie but I doubt BSU fans in general noticed or paid much heed to it.

They had other bigger fish to fry.

Let's not flatter ourselves after having won one MAC west title in umteen seasons.
We discussed a BSU - NIU trophy on this board a while back, whatever happened to that?
likely nowhere.

A large canning jar containing strands of barb wire atop a plaque with a map of Illinois-Indiana with stars for Muncie and DeKalb were perfect IMO.

Founders Trophy.

Nobody really supported it from either school, but I think it is a good idea for next year if we can get support. I do think something like a glass, breakable jar that contains sharp metal wire is a bad idea.
why must the jar be glass & breakable?

Plenty of clear faux substitutes.

Both names of Ball & Glidden could be inscribed to imitate their signatures.

Last time it felt like there were more townies spending a Saturday evening watching football than people actually affiliated with the university. There was no rain though.
I just heard from our Athletic Director that nothing has changed with the trophy. I think its kind of dead until I get the energy to try and muster up student support.
