As you can see, Lee Owens is on the hot seat at Akron:

Quote:There is little doubt that Akron head coach Lee Owens is playing for it all this season the job, the mortgage, the kids' college fund, etc. He has to produce or it is time to put the "For Sale" sign in the front yard and update the resume.

Mike DeBord is also still at CMU. 8-O

Perhaps I can get some assistance in rectifying the time line? My appeals seem to have gone unheard. C'mon MAC journalistic goons, let's get 'em! 05-mafia
Also according to the article, UCF and Marshall are currently in the MAC 01-wingedeagle
How did you stumble across this? Over 3 years old...

Quote:SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Akron has it all on offense potent running, versatile passing attack, brainy and tough QB. Junior quarterback Charlie Frye enters the 2003 season ranked fifth all-time in MAC history with his 62.8 percent completion percentage. Frye is 420-of-699, throwing for 4,877 yards and 24 touchdowns during his two-year career. His 2,824 yards through the air in 2002 is an Akron record, as is his average of 235.3 passing yards per game.

Senior running back Bob Hendry is a 2003 Doak Walker Award candidate after he became the seventh running back in Akron history to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark when he posted 1,021 yards on the ground in 2002. Hendry has 1,866 rushing yards (5.0 ypc) in his three years.

I checked out the website, USA today actually has it posted as the splash page for the MAC under their college football section! Wow, that is strange. Maybe it was originally posted on the same date years ago?
I ran across that yesterday and emailed them. Got some form letter email back. That page that came up was from 2003 and was before the season opener. Wierd. 03-old

Just pulled it up and they have fixed it.
