I was just thinking about this. If Wolfe does somehow win the Heisman(which is unlikely but there may be a groundswell to have the "little guy"-I don't mean that physically- win one). Anyway, my question is: "Has there ever been a Heisman trphy winner NOT taken in the first round?" I think if Wolfe does win it, he may be the first. Anybody know?

Charlie Ward never played in the NFL...went to the NBA
Jason White from OK a few years ago didn't get taken until the 6th or 7th round...and never made an NFL team.

Gino Toretta, Danny Werfel (sp) come to mind

There have been a lot of Heisman winners not drafted in the first round. In addition to those already mentioned by others, Nebraska's Eric Crouch comes to mind.
I think at this point "winning the Heisman" is just getting invited to NW, that would be a huge thing in itself. Wolfe could run for 3000 yards, since the Huskies wont be in a BCS bowl, that takes wolfe out of the running. The exposure for NIU just getting invited to NY would be huge though.
Thanks. I guess it was a dumb question. I just got the idea in my head that most went in the first round.
Robert,

How do you keep up with Huskie games out there in the NE. Does the internet still have the broadcast stream?

I listened to the game on WCKG and followed on those game trackers this weekend. No, there are no more broadcast monsters broadcasts which makes it harder. I tried to go to a bar that is right down the street for the Ohio game assuming with their boasting about getting every game and 70 TV's that they would be able to get Comcast but...no...of course they don't get it. 03-hissyfit Of course, I get Huskie news from here too. ;-)

Don't forget Eric Crouch.
