From the Big 12 War Zone Board...this thread on the KU-UT game:

Anybody care to venture over there?
Typical BCS arrogance and cluelessness.

Yep. Pathetic.
I guessing less than 5% of those posters have ever been in a college classroom.

And we will be making the exact same comments if Akron for example gets beat by North Texas this week at the Rubber Bowl. Perspective.

I doubt that will happen. Akron losing to N. Texas, I mean. Griping about the Sun Belt? All too possible.
I guess they can't bear the fact that the MAC is slowly catching up to the Big 12.

Quote:Real teams don't go on the road to play *******, they have home games against the non-conference opponents, and play home and homes against good teams. Call us back when your team gets out of diapers.
I say it's the exact oppisite. KU has the balls to come play a MAC team at a MAC stadium. The other big boys are too afraid of maybe losing.

The MAC is catching up with the some of the ACC too!
That is rediculous. I honestly can say OSU fans have more respect for us than that. How can you make fun of a team so bad that meat you? I truy don't understand. True college football fans and ones that are educated know that The MAC's upper half has great football programs.
I doubt North Texas wins as well. But it will cause a commotion on here if they do.

I wouldn't give Kansas any credit about their schedule. The mid-level BCS teams have to come to MAC stadiums occasionally because they don't have leverage to demand dozens of games with no return trips.
At home...I'd venture to guess that Toledo could beat any team in the Big 12 except Texas and Oklahoma. Bring them on!

Heck...if we get our offense in gear...I'd say Texas AND Oklahoma are beatable in the Glass Bowl.

The guys posting on that thread don't know much about college football outside of their conference or team. I realize that Toledo and the MAC aren't the SEC but at least have a clue as to what you're talking about.

I hope Ohio beats Missouri this weekend to get those guys to pay attention. Look what happened to Texas Tech vs. TCU when they thought they were the superior team.

I'm sure you meant to add "and with a 5 turnover advantage".

So you're saying the defense didn't have anything to do with the turnover?

Depends. Is UT still obviously better than WMU?

On a neutral field or at the Glass Bowl yes. In Kalamazoo it depends. Look at the turnovers that UT had at WMU and the turnovers that KU had at Toledo.

KU had one turnover that the defense didn't cause.....that was the fumble in the 1st OT. Toledo at WMU had several turnovers and penalties that weren't caused by WMU. A fumbled snap on a field goal attempt is one, and that technically wasn't considered a turnover. There was a fumble lost that wasn't caused by the defense. There was an INT throw right to the WMU defender. If you look at UT's INT's against Kansas they were all on good plays made by the defense. Morris' INT was amazing that he caught the ball and stayed in bounds.

Also, adding to the UT/KU game. Toledo was called for a lot of penalties. If UT takes care of that penalty problem the KU game isn't even close.

Re-read my post....I said if the offense plays like they're capabale...ala the type of offense we've had since 2001....combined with this defense.

Heck..the defense could have played better if they didn't have to be on the field most of the game, 28 yards of 'O' in the second half and 7 punts, Yikes!!!

Who else in the Big 12 besides Texas and Oklahoma would Toledo NOT have a shot at beating at home? Go look at the Big 12 and who those other 10 teams have played and beat. I don't think I'm being totally irrational.

Toledo has gone toe-to-toe with two of the Big 12's bowl teams last year and come out 1-1 against them. That's respectable in my book.
