great win Western fans! I was totally wrong about this program this year, I saw this as a serious rebuilding year but make no mistake, WMU will content for the west title

nice job guys!
they execute well and Bonds is a good workhorse type for a conservative game plan. Funny how Cubit was considered a questionable HC choice while everyone was so high on Shane Montgomery. Youth doesn't always mean skill or success though.

Western will lose a couple MAC games. The Toledo win was deceptive in that they didn't move the ball nearly as well as Toledo, but got the key turnovers and took advantage of some Toledo mistakes. Northern will be a challenge as Western's strength is pass defense and northern is a running and screen team really this year. Central will be a tough one as usual, Ball State is pretty solid and Eastern has stayed in games on the road despite being 0-3. Who's their crossover opponents?
Western Michigan is in solid position to get to a bowl. A key conference victory followed up by an impressive road win over a BCS team. Western Michigan is the MAC best team from what I've watched so far.

Cubit was put in positions to perform miracles in his OC spots. He always upgraded the programs. People in the know alawys brought him when desperate measures were called for.

He is a great coach for several reasons :
1) Extremely organized
2) Very honest and doesn't pull punches
3) great game mind
4) Most disciplined coach in the MAC

We are thrilled to have him for as long as we can. What he has done in Kzoo is truly amazing !!!!!
Cross over games:

@Ohio
Miami
@Akron

All winnable. Remember, the last two wins were with a 2nd string QB making his first starts and a number of key guys dinged up. When Ryan Cubit returns and Jamarko Simmons gets healthy, I expect to see a much different and more robust offense.

Also, for reference, the Broncos rush defense has allowed less than 100 yds rushing in each of the first three games - 71 Indiana, 88 Toledo, and 69 to Virginia.

Credit Coach Shafer for that. An excellent DC.
