Some friends of mine decided to spend the whole weekend in DeKalb for the 100th homecoming game on Oct 21st, so I nominated myself for the task of booking a hotel room. Folks, there ain't a room left in Huskie country. I tried evey hotel on Lincoln HWY, including that little dumpy looking DeKalb Motel near Peace Rd. Every hotel in Sycamore, including the Stratford downtown. To my amazement, even some of the hotels in Rochelle and St. Charles are completely booked. I called the Student Center, no room there. The receptionist said it was aweful finding a room and I told her hell no, it's great for the team. 04-bow

Finally, I found a room off the beaten path, at a place not on any web site. The Harbor Inn Motel, out near Four Seasons bowling alley in Sycamore, had a room.

Damn I'm excited. 6 weeks away and we've already sold out DeKalb and some of the surrounding communities. GO HUSKIES!! 02-13-banana

For those of you coming to DeKalb for homecoming, where do you stay? Any traditions? I once stayed at the Travelodge and found a drawer of porn. I'm not kidding, one of the dresser drawers was nailed shut. We removed the drawer above it, and behold, half-decade old nudie magazines. The Travelodge, by the way, claims to have a room for homecoming, at 2 1/2 times their normal rate of $49.

DeKalb needs a higher price hotel(one where the visiting players of BCS teams are willing to stay instead of them staying in Naperville). A Hilton or a Marriott type.
Maybe Gs mom would allow him to have a sleep over with the guys from the board?
Travelodge, good god no. Just no. I did it two years ago, I'd rather sleep in my car again.

Homecoming is the perfect time to be a wandering vagrant.
Country Inn & Suites on Peace Road near Sycamore Road is probably the nicest hotel in the entire Dek/Syc area. No Marriott, but it's pretty new and the rooms are nice.
Should push come to shove, consider Geneva .

Push come to shove, you sleep with a fat chick.

You were thinking it.

What such a boring town we live in.

Well at least we don't have any of these.

Nazi rallies.

Well I guess when you Toledo fans come to DeKalb that could change.
Do you want a room for Friday or Saturday night? The Super 8 has rooms Friday night. You're right about the Travelodge. It's absolutely disgusting.

I stay at the Baymont if it's available, which it usually is not, or the Super 8. Stayed one in the Microtel which was OK.

This Friday I'm staying at the Super 8 in Rochelle (I come up from the south). It's about $20 cheaper than the DeKalb Super 8.

Why? Do you hate minorities that much that you would have a Nazi rally to protest some of the minorities from Toledo that will come to the game?
Yea, what's up?

Both nights 04-rock

G is refering to a Nazi rally held in Toledo last year, for anyone who is confused. Though I don't necessarily condone him for doing so 05-footinmouth
Hotel rooms are sitting right under your noses. Did you try the Holmes student center falllic hotel?

Damn! I hope that wasn't my old room! If so, I truly apologize. At any rate, I hope you enjoyed the magazines. And, if you happened to take them, would you kindly return them to me? Thanks!

I stayed at the Harbor Inn a few years ago on the night we opened the Convo Center. It was not great, but certainly passible. The drapes would not close all the way, and I kept getting these feelings that women were looking in trying to get a peek at me undressing. It was just my wife standing outside the window, looking in, and laughing. Why do I always feel so miserable when I'm with my wife? 03-hissyfit
