1. OU knew nothing about UTM (no film) except that coach used to be at UT-Chattanooga (or wherever it was)

2. O-Line only looked bad early (little run success and no time to throw) because UTM was blitzing on every play from somewhere different (LB-CB-Safety)

3. Everson was 8-17 with three easy drops which translates to a nice 11-17 (65%). Each QB had nearly sure TD's result in interferences. Everson had two TD's (toward the band endzone) - one was called interference and other was a held jersy (not called). Bower had a TD pass (toward the Hill endzone) result in interference call - we scored 10 points versus almost sure 21 points on those three series. Therfore, score could have (should have?) been 40-3

4. OU wanted to show NIU absolutely nothing - very vanilla play calling.

5. Only back who picked up third or fourth and short was Everson (fullback failed 2-3 times and so did McRae and Abrams). Everson kept a couple of drives alive for the Cats. If Bower ended up as starting QB later in the season - I would make #9 a fullback.

6. OU wins next week with a HUGE week one to week two improvement.

You better put up 40 if you are going to win.

Garrett Wolfe isn't going to be stopped.

He's going to have a field day on everybody's defense. It's really nothing to get upset about.

Wolfe will have his field day.........

Northern Illinios is going to have to score more than 12 points to beat us, our defense alone can score 12 points.

Get off your high horse.....

Ohio took a top 20 ranked NIU team to overtime last time we played in 2003.......that was the only victory the Huskies have over us in the last 20 years.

Saturday will be no pee-pee walk in the park for the little doggies of dekalb......

And 2003 has what to do with now?

You want stop Wolfe, you won't stop Horvath.

38-17 Huskies.

I think you are drastically underrating our offense.

You say NIU by 3 TD's.

I say NIU by 10pts......

I'll let our new mascot do the talking.

First you say Ohio will win and now you say NIU by 10. What will be your prediction by Saturday?

Don't get me wrong, I think NIU will beat OU rather easily but I wouldn't be touting Horvath too much. He looked like crap last game. They should have substituted for Princess Leia.

The 2003 game has to do with now because OU might stack the line of scrimmage again and force us to pass the ball a lot. If you recall, Akron did that in the first game last year and although Horvath did well we still lost. Then in the Akron II game Wolfe ran wild and we still lost, though that was with Nicholson. Bottom line, remember the Ball State game last year (though of course Wolfe wasn't there). We can't take anybody lightly, especially when our defense has had trouble getting any pressure on the QB. That can make any QB look very good.

Trying to stir the pot... 05-stirthepot
Airport KC Wrote:Trying to stir the pot... 05-stirthepot

Well there's your first mistake. You can bake it into brownies if you need but stirring it won't do much. Of all people, an OU grad/student should know that!

-Dan
My prediction is:
OHIO 21
NIU 17

Watch out....our defense is pretty darn good! Oh yea, and if you think we showed our entire offensive package Saturday, your are sorely mistaken. There is a lot more left in Solich & Co.'s bag of tricks!! ;-)

As far as the new mascot, his name is RUFUS:
