Whitlock is a former BSU football player (he played on the '89 California Bowl team that won the MAC), so he takes his Cardinal pigskin quite seriously...
A Ball State j-school grad, he now is a columnist for the Kansas City Star, hosts his own daily show on a KC sports radio station, writes a weekly NFL column for ESPN.com and is an occasional substitute on ESPN's "Sports Reporters" and "PTI."
(That BSU team was a launching pad for future media stars... One of Jason's college teammates was current Chicago Tribune sportswriter and Comcast SportsNet commentator David Haugh...)
He was on the MAC Report this past week and hyped BSU quite a bit. He's solid...a good guy!
That's good to see. He could've went the route where he "forgot" his BSU days and decided to start wearing Notre Dame caps to 'look the part'. But instead he stayed true to his roots. Kudos to Whitlock.
