Quote:Are schools really in danger of losing membership in Division 1A? Not likely. The mandate's consequences have been watered down to the point where any schools not meeting the attendance mark would likely receive a written notice that would indicate what steps they would need to take to avoid having "restricted" membership.

Good to know!

Landing Boston College for a home game at Kelly-Shorts Stadium in Mt. Pleasant was already a pretty big deal for Central Michigan, but with a 6:00 pm ET kickoff slated for broadcast on ESPN2 on August 31, the game takes on a new dimension. The Chips' home opener will also be the first Division 1A game of the season and the first game under the newly installed light system at Kelly-Shorts.

Making the trek to Mt. Pleasant to cover the game for ESPN2 will be John Saunders, Craig James and Doug Flutie. It?s the second straight season that CMU has had had a mid-week home opener against a BCS squad. Last season the Chips took it on the chin at home against Indiana, 20-13 before a crowd of 22,212.

The night before the game, Central Michigan is promoting a "Fire Up Fest" to peak interest in the game. "This event is a great way to kick off the football season," Associate Athletics Director Nick Williams said. "The lights will be on and it will be a great night for the whole community to get fired up for Chippewa Football."

I'm ready to 04-rock . I will most certainly be there! 02-13-banana

Wouldn't that be more accurately translated as "Split the Spliff"? ;-)

That's infinitely better than "Spilt the Pot". Only users lose drugs.
Party FOUL! That's a 10 yard penalty and an automatic first down, and you are ejected from the game.
