And here are the official statements from OU:

STATEMENTS FROM FRANK SOLICH AND OHIO UNIVERSITY
Statements in response to today's court ruling by the Athens County
Municipal Court

STATEMENT FROM OHIO UNIVERSITY HEAD FOOTBALL COACH FRANK SOLICH
"While I recognize the court's authority and judgment in this case, I'm
extremely disappointed in today's decision. My energy continues to be
focused on preparing our football team, and any further comment would be
inappropriate until I've had the opportunity to consult with my attorney."

STATEMENT FROM OHIO UNIVERSITY
"The University and Department of Athletics has continually supported Coach
Solich's right to pursue his legal remedies. Anyone who knows Frank Solich
understands the professionalism and complete focus he employs in running a
college football program. Coach Solich and his staff are committed to the
105 student-athletes they have in camp, and will continue to support and
guide them in the appropriate manner."
This is actually what Solich probably wanted. The case gets thrown to its initial judgment w/no new commotion ( hearings) but leaves the air of doubt ( because no more evidentiary hearings about the drug will be held) that he wasn't smashed but actually drugged.

To get this back on the docket would've been a bad thing for Solich and Bobcat Nation. Hopefully he has enough common sense to let it go or his lawyer doesn't push the case forward for his own selfish reasons (publicity).
I smell appeal.
Tailor made case for the Ohio Supreme Court during an election year.
Shows they decide really important, pivotal, scholarly, benchmark, precedent making legal issues.

He cannot just let this die quietly.
He was wronged by the justice system. The judge is obviously some kind of benchwarmer who felt wronged by the coach's in peewee ball. Now was his payback.
Appeal this now.
Ohio Supreme Court could not possibly have anything more important than this.
Just imagine what could happen if they don't rule on this and some other unsuspecting coach is slipped a mickey? The consequences could be far worse than a simple DUI. It could have life or death implications.
