=>Miami does have the most MAC titles in both sports. So Miami is an easy pick for both sports from a historical perspective. Certainly in recent history, Toledo and Kent have been the conference flag bearers in football and basketball. I would say Miami has been second in both in recent years though.

I have not calculated the numbers for football, but these are the # of MAC regular season conference wins the last 10 and 6 years:

MAC OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS (Charlie Coles Era)

A. TOTAL MAC WINS (1996-97 through 2005-06)
1. Kent 123-56 (68.33%)
2. Miami 113-67 (62.78%)
3. Toledo 101-79 (56.11%)
4. BSU 100-80 (55.56%)
5. BUGS 99-81 (55%)
6. WMU 98-82 (54.44%)
7. Ohio U. 97-83 (53.89%)
-- Akron 94-79 (53.89 %)

10. NIU 62-100 (38.27%)
11. EMU 64-116 (35.56%)
12. CMU 56-124 (31.11%)
13. Buffalo 44-100 (30.56%)

[b]B. TOTAL MAC WINS OVER LAST 6 SEASONS (AKA since all of Herb Sendek Miami
Buffalo and Temple.
My vote is Eastern Michigan
Ohio 97-83 in the MAC over last 10 years and 1 NCAA trip. That won't cut it in Athens. 7th best winning % over that time shows why Ohio fans grow impatient with O'Shea. He has yet to win more than 11 MAC games in a season since he arrived. 11-7 isn't gonna win division titles in the MAC.

The Gary Trent era had much better numbers
The 1992-1993 Ohio team was 14-12 9-7 MAC
The 1993-1994 Ohio team with a school record 25-9 wins overall, 14-4 MAC Champs, NCAA trip
The 1994-1995 with 24-10 and a 12-6 MAC, Pre-season NIT champs, and NIT trip were ranked in top 15 in AP poll in December.

63-31 during the three years of Gary Trent and 33-17 .660 in the MAC.
