FWIW - this black jersey is the same format as the current jerseys, just black. The late 90s black jerseys were a different format and looked high schoolish.

The 90's Black unis looked identical to the ones worn by the Mean Machine in movie The Longest Yard.

I've got a black one and I think it is pretty badass.

the one that HMM is wearing looks to be the early 90s version. If i recall, the later 90s version had that cursive style number, correct?

One year. Those were red and awful. The road jerseys were normal. Joe would not tell us who in the Athletics Department ordered their use. You can still see them in use if you go to practices.

And the jersey in HMM's pic has to be late 90s- I don't think the jerseys had the "Huskies" script under the neckline until the late 90s. Those might be last edition black jerseys.

And the day Novak decided to go red might be the greatest day in NIU's sartorial history.

I may be weird (okay, scratch the "may be"), but I would like to see an alternate home uniform of a black jersey with red pants. The pants would have a black or black and white stripe along the side of the leg. This would not replace the current uniform, but would be an alternate.

Dog, you are weird. Red pants could be very dangerous, hard to make those look good. I'd just like to see the black jerseys and have our own "black out" day.

As an aside, NCAA Football 07 (and previous versions as well) still have alternate uniforms for us with white pants. I never recall us wearing white pants since the new logo in 01.

anyone think that all white alternate uni's would be cool? texas pulls it off pretty nicely. i think it would be awesome to see them come out in all white.

They'll look like a bunch of wusses. Think about my red pants idea. Red can accentuate the bulges, and the Huskies could intimidate the opposition with their manliness. If necessary, they could stuff their jocks.
