I never considered north or south side as applying to the village - until I realized it is located SOUTH of Madison Ave & making it technically on the south side of the city of Chicago.

BTW : I now live a few blocks south of that same Madison Avenue {Chicago} but in Lombard. The same street extended 25 miles due west passes the park Madison Meadows in Lombard - even tho this is a western not southern suburb.

Where in the zoo did you live? Were you with the monkeys? 05-duck

Southside... 03-puke

Kedz opinions... 03-puke

i found an interesting little questionaire done a while back. some guy from uic asked people from various areas of chicago to give their opinions of the north vs. southside.

and i had to laugh at the person who considered brookfield zoo the southside lmfao . seriously kedz, have you ever even been to neighborhoods like hyde park or bridgeport, or anywhere in between? those are some of the hottest places to live in the city. even the near west side is seeing a resurgance, with lots of loft conversions. but then again, i reckon you dont get out of that little naperville shell all that often anyway. reminds me of my friends from there who are afraid of the sothside b/c "thats where cabrini green is" lmfao
Having lived in the mean streets of Elgin, you'd think he'd be cool with the SouthSide.

To all you 'Suburbanlynesess': reading your posts here make me feel that the extra money we are spending to send our Orland Park kids to Mt. Carmel and Iggy on Roosevelt Rd. is the best money ever spent. They arleady know more about the city and diversity than you guys combined. You'd think that going to NIU would have given you guys more diversity than you are showing in your posts.

Cybes,

Where in Lombard do you live. That's my hometown. Did your kids go to East, Willowbrook or Montini?

My dad went to Glenbard East. I was trying to see if I could remember where he lived but I can't remember. It was somewhat close to Highland Ave in a neighborhood that has changed recently because many of the older homes were taken out and new expensive one put in their place but I think the one my dad lived in survived. Probably because it had several acres of land. Though, it may be gone now since I haven't been past it in a while.
