Anybody know what some of the "key" matchups are in the 1st week of the season? Are there any key games, or is it a pretty plain schedule.

If it is, does anybody have college gameday's email? Preaseason #1 going up against BCS killer NIU who has the best running back in the nation. I am pretty sure BGSU got them to come to campus by emailing them abunch of times, so why not try it for the Ohio State game?

So to start with, does anybody have the 9/2 schedule?
Sept. 2, 8 p.m. ET: Notre Dame at Georgia Tech

even though it's broadcast on abc

If it's being broadcasted on abc then it won't be the espn game of the week will it? That would be sweet if we could get the espn game of the week with the gameday crew!
cal at tennessee will probably take it
Does the Gameday crew always go to a ESPN televised game or have they been to sites where ABC has broadcast the game? I bring this up because of the tOSU/Texas match up the following week. The hype for that game started during the BCS bowl games last year.

No it is definately not the ESPN game of the week always. Last year the day we played Michigan the Gameday crew was in Pitt for the ND/Pitt game (a game on ABC) and the ESPN Saturday Night game was I think USC/Hawaii.

Then I'd say tOSU/Texas will most likely get the GD crew the week following our game, with ND/GT possibly getting it the first week. Can't see them covering tOSU two weeks in a row, no matter how much Kirk Herbstriet cries. ;-) Plus, if tOSU plays Penn State this year, that would probably get consideration as well. When does GD release their schedule?

Gameday will be at ND/Ga Tech on 9/2. Herbstreit is on the radio here in Columbus and yesterday he verified that and that they will be in Austin the following week. Gameday does not always do an ESPN or ABC game. They go to the best game of the week regardless of what network the game is on. Herbstreit will also be in the booth for ABC games this year with Musberger and Bob Davie, but it could be a game other than where Gameday is. He said he would do Gameday in the morning and then fly to the game he is doing on TV if a different location.

Football Gameday goes to the best game (or one of the very best games) that weekend, no matter who is broadcasting it. The Basketball Gameday only went to where they were broadcasting that night.

Is the BG game at Cleveland?

This "could" be a great weekend for the MAC!

Yep - I think RF meant to put "at PBS" in there instead - Paul Brown Stadium.

CBS stands for Cleveland Browns Stadium which is where the game is being played.

Sorry. I guess I was just thinking Michigan so you would have a better chance of winning.

My bad - I knew there was a Brown involved, and Paul was Browns coach first!
