So I've just had a real drag out fight with Verizon over my phone service and have pretty well had it with them. Being one of the last dinosaurs still using dial up for the internet and having dodgy cell service at home I'm stuck needing at least some local phone service.

Any input from fellow DeKalbians how to deal with the situation?
Locally I get better service then my roommates, I have USCellular, Verizon seems useless service wise. Can't help you out about landlines though. I think my roommate who has sprint has the worst though, but I mean I'm sure it depends on the phone model and other things too.

WE CHANGED TO COMCAST HAPPY SO FAR!THIS IS LAND LINE SERVICE.
I have U.S Cellular I have had no problems with it. I really like it has my phone service provider. I have heard of people having problems with it though.

Are you doing the internet phone service? How is that? I am considering doing it when I move next time. The only problem I have heard of is there is no 911 service. They didn't have a way for the system to work yet.
My wife and I have Verizon (cell phones) and the service is great. Almost no dropped calls either. Had Sprint before that, it was terrible.

We did not have a land line until recently so we could get DSL (and for other reasons). Verizon for that too, working fine.
