This is still not enough.

When is the MAC going to meet the golden number of 4 bowls that I've talked about as necessary for a 13 or 14 member football conference?

Are we going to have to wait for the Houston Bowl to fold to propose another game in 2007?

How about MAC #4 vs. SBC #2 in Miami?

You still wouln't make a bowl game. But will come much closer.

Toledo, Miami, BGSU, Akron, Ohio. As you can see you are fifth in line.
Do they actually have something in place in Birmingham? The articles I've seen say C-USA vs. Big East with no mention of the MAC.
The glass is now 3/4 full, people. Why are some seeing it as 1/4 empty?
Maybe the NCAA will add more bowls next season so that 70 teams go bowling and 5-7 teams are now eligible.

Somewhere, we need to draw the line...

We could play it in Hazzard County, Ga.

If the NCAA had any balls(we know they don't) they would limit the number of bowls and make the bids based on some sort of RPI ranking system.

IMO there is no way 50% of the D1a teams should go to bowls. Bowl bids should be based on a teams success not popularity or size of theri athletic budget. The whole idea of the conference/bowl alliance is awful.

Have 25 bowls, take the top 50 teams reagrdlsess of conference.

Because the MAC will be alternating with the Big East in the Birmingham bowl, so in 2007 MAC #4 will be playing against a C-USA school in that bowl game.
I haven't yet seen anything about the alternating MAC/BE here.

Or NIU in place of Akron.

If they could beat Akron, and bring more than 10 fans to the MACC.

NIU has the largest distance from DT of any other MAC program (except possibly Buffalo) and NIU sold all of it's ticket allotment for the game.

None of this will matter in 06 when the Huskies beat osu and iowa, with the liberalized rules that allow nonBCS programs that rank ahead of a BCS conference champ to get a BCS bid, the Huskies will be in a major bowl. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 04-rock 04-rock 04-bow 04-bow

Yeah, and for a team that doesn't consider NIU a rival i love how you have a quote from our coach. You Toledo fans... 05-stirthepot
There's a difference between rivalry and willful annoyance. ;-)

(and don't try to change the subject)
