Sorry for the inconvenience of the ABQ Journal's forcing non-subscribers to view an advertisement.

I tried to quote sections out of the article that are of interest to MACsters, but kept getting error messages about indexing problems.

It is an interesting article.
I don't know why officials are making the decision between 7-5 and 6-6 so hard. Just pass legislation that only 6-6 teams will be bowl eligible if there are no more 7-5 team left. All 7-5 teams (or better) get priority over 6-6 teams. Pretty simple people.

Doesn't sound like Birmingham might get off the ground yet. (Unless the Houston Bowl gets de-certified).

You would think, wouldn't ya? Heck, this should have already been done, no 6-5 teams when there are 10-1, 9-2, etc teams available.

It even improves the regular season b/c now BCS midlings will WANT to schedule xBCS top teams.

But, Miles Brand would rather take photos in his PhD robes to prove how smart he is.

Unless you have a 9-3 MAC team and a 6-6 Big Tenleven team left for a bowl bid. Which team do you think would get the nod?

Suffice to say that the NCAA will approve 6-6 teams going to a bowl.
