Obviously, from the comments (or lack of them) from the Ohio University officials (McDavis, Holcutt, Solich, etc.) the University has the clamps on the story. The question is, why? If it were purely a wild rumor, they would have Solich up in front of the press to deny it.

Because when rumors are sufficiently outlandish, SOP is not to dignify them with comment.
