Why don't the powers that be make the Motor City Bowl into a BCS game?

MAC vs. BCS at-large. Play it in January.

Every conference should have an automatic bid to the BCS that has 10 or more members (sorry WAC, SBC, MWC, Big East).

lmfao lmfao lmfao

I'm sorry, but the motor city bowl? A BCS bowl? I agree that we all should have better access to the BCS, but the Motor City Bowl has a better chance of going under than becoming a BCS Bowl.

lmfao lmfao lmfao

Message boards make for a good laugh now and then. 01-wingedeagle
Remember now, the NCAA will tell us we are all part of the "BCS" now. lmfao
I think there should be 59 bowls, and every school should get a certificate of particpation.
I agree that Ford Field would be an excellent location for a BCS Bowl.
It is one helluva nice facility.

Whether the MAC should have an automatic invite is an entirely different story.

I disagree. Football should be played outside. I don't understand why it needs to be 80 degrees in there in the middle of winter and the place only has a few thousand people in there.

Yes, but it is also in Detroit. Need I say more?

Hater.

It's a strong bowl in a good sports town.

Detroit just hosted the Super Bowl and the NCAA tournament final will be at Ford Field in 2009.

Ford Field may be the best domed football stadium in North America.

No reason to sell our region short like this.

Just having a little fun with my MAC friends. ;-)
I think it would be a good idea. Its a venue that has the Thanksgiving game every year for the NFL. I think Detroit offers a lot (gambling), Hockey, basketball too. You could have a celebration to Motown Music halftime show. Its a lot better than the Sugar Bowl right now with the New Orleans situation. I think the MAC having a New Years day bowl isn't much different than the Gator bowl. Gator has no national title implications either, so why not. I think that the MCB bowl would sellout on New Years day. Have an Auto show at a convention center too and you have fans having a great weekend and pumping money into the city that needs it. I think people who rip on Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland have never been to those cities. You got some great bars, music, museums here in the midwest. Its cold, but Detroit has lots of things to do. Same thing with Cleveland in March. MAC is lucky to be in the location they are in. WAC must have cow tipping as the primary after game entertainment.

NO! I went to the MCB in 2005 and they did a Motown Music halftime show, let's just say it was a boring. I hope I'm not being impartial since I'm in the band.... ;-)
