This ensures a Mid-Major team WILL play in a regional final, with a chance to make it to the FINAL FOUR.

the selection commitee got it right. nantz and packer should release an apology to themselves, since they now look like idiots!

They'll still figure out a way in insult the mid-majors. There'll be comments about how certain pleys or players wouldn't be effective against bigger or quicker opponents, but they can get away with it at this level.
Packer is still convinced that he was right about St. Jos not deserving a #1 seed a couple years ago. .

They basically apologized on tonights game. They admitted they were wrong about the MVC and complimented George Mason. They were surprised there was so much negative reaction to what they were saying on air.

oh i'm sorry i missed that episode of "Jim and Billy Eat Crow!" lmfao

i have forgotten why Jim Larranaga (George Mason's current coach and BG's former coach) left BG. was he pushed out or did he leave for "greener pastures" (no value judgement there; just a phrase!).
i'm thinking a lot of BG fans would like to have Jim back now!

Yep don't you just love it. the old pompous gassbag has a giant plate of steaming crow to eat this week with 2 MVC teams in the Sweet 16; it would have been better if we had 2 MAC teams in the Sweet 16 but 2 MVC teams will do nicely. ;-)

If the Selection Committee had the stones they would tell CBS in no uncertain terms that Packer and Nantz can no longer be involved in any way with the Tournamente or the NCAA will put the Tournament out for open bidding. Fox, NBC and ABC would love to get a crack at taking the most important "amateur" sporting event away from CBS.

I can remember when Larranaga left BGSU for Georgia Mason. I could not believe so I did some research..He tripled his salary. Nuf said.

I hope Packer has a minor heart attack (not serious) and Nance gets the flu so that someone else is given the privilege of calling this game.

Gee...I must have missed that...I only heard Nantz still try to cover azz by stating that the bigger conference teams were more tired because they played more games in their conference tournaments and that after experiencing such a high after their conference tournaments that it was hard to rise to the ocassion so quickly...both total BS arguments again though.
I kept on laughing and saying to myself...just say that you were wrong.

wow, triple the salary...yeah that's a good reason to leave the flatlands of BG for the "green"er pastures of suburban DC! thanks for the info.

oh i don't! i think it would be poetic justice if they had to cover the game and admit regularly throughout the broadcast that they are tools and they no nothing about the COMPLETE world of college basketball in this country. it would definitely serve them right.

Not really. $150K might very well go further in Wood County, Ohio, than $450K would go in Fairfax County, VA.

At the time, my source, and I forget who it was, indicated that JL had a base salary of less than $150K at BGSU. That was so years ago.
