Take your cue from Baker & Simmons. They made it clear afterwards this was the final game for three seniors - nary a mention of any remote chance for any NIT bid.


Those are two guys among many wanting the season to be extended. The dynamic duo would have found most any reason to offer a glimmer of hope.

If the football team can be mac west champs and bel left out of a blow theres no reason why the b-ball team cant be west champs and be left out too.

NO. Toledo, Akron or Kent State Two of these three will probably get an NIT bid once the conference champ is determined this weekend. I expcet the champ to be the third one of these three.

You've got to be out of your fracking mind to even fathom the idea of an NIT bid. We were terrible this season. We showed signs of decentness against Western Michigan when we were up by 25. That didn't mean crap. We can never get the job done when it comes time too and that's just not acceptable. The NCAA would be out of their mind to give us an NIT Invite. The only MAC teams that I would give an invite to would be Kent State or Akron...which ever one doesn't win the Conference Championship and possibly Miami. No one else deserves a bid.

I agree, the only chance would would have MAYBE made it to the NIT is if we were to make it to the championship game and lose a close one.

Third off (paragraph), debatable. I disagree, but many can tolerate his transgressions.

Fourth off, partially agree. The people calling for Novak's head are retarded, but I refuse to believe that we "have more to be concerned about than the loss of a football game..." As a die-hard Huskie, I recognize that football and a few select colleges in this entire university are something to be undeniably proud of - the rest neds some massive work. To throw football success to the wind to "uphold our tradition of academic prowess" would be a little over the top - not that I'm saying that's what you're calling for, but it could be implied from your post. There has to be a happy medium somewhere!
