One thing that is a bit alarming is that 3 of the kids have remarks about possible grade issues and may not qualify. With the NCAA graduation rate standards, what is Akron thinking?

Win some games, get a new job, leave and let Akron deal with any problems...

Three kids out of a class of 25 isn't all that alarming. I would bet several MAC schools have 2 or 3 kids that don't make grades or test scores. Additionally, at least one listed may not get a letter to sign due to their grades.
Kids that don't make test scores are also very capable of graduation. Andrew Mitchell was a prop 48 for Kent hoops and ended up quite well. Ditto Matt Futch @ Akron. Both graduated on-time. There are many others.

Only athletes that receive scholarship money count toward the APR. If an athlete is a non-qualifier, they do not figure into the APR unless they are able to become a qualifier and earn a scholarship.

The NCAA is going to announce in the next week or two which schools will be sanctioned for academics and transfer problems. I think that both UT and Akron might face penalties...but that is just a feeling that I have and can't be substantiated one bit. I'll be hoping I'm wrong, especially about UT.
