My vote goes to Tom and Jerry's. I love their Gyros. The Smokehouse in Wheaton is good. You have not had a good Gyros unless you taste it the next day.
I go with Tom and Jerry's or a place near where I used to work in Maywood(although I think it was technically a different town). It was on the corner of 171(1st Ave) and 38 I believe.
Tom & Jerry's. The "Toxic Bomb" is still my favorite drunk food...
Gyros and Cheese fries at Tom and Jerry's is junk food nirvana after tailgating all afternoon. I go there after most football games to get my fix. Here's to T&Js.
The Village Tavern has good Gyro's.
My favorite our at Greek Islands in Greektown!
In DeKalb it's tom and jerry's.
I know of plenty of small joints around home.
One of the worst "gyros" i have ever eaten was at Shelly's. It's a wrap of some sort and tastes really bad.
Another vote for Tom & Jerry's.
"Lincoln Town" on Halsted/Altgeld in Chicago...!!!

Sorry to say I have never heard of the toxic bomb, please explain???
There is a place in Lombard on Rt. 38 called "Nicky's Gyros"... It is their specialty. They have "baby gyros", which is excellent if you like the pita, because you can order 2 babys instead of one regular and get more pita.
It's just east of Roosevelt and Finley on the north side of the street. When I lived in that area, we used to go there often. My wife is 100% Greek and she stamped it with her approval.
