They switched the date of our game (9/16) with them to date where we host Clemson (9/23). This is their position:

"As it stands now, Auburn will host LSU on Sept. 16. Temple comes to Jordan-Hare Stadium a week later on Sept. 23. What's keeping the schedule from being released is Temple and the Mid-American Conference, with whom Auburn is working to get the dates worked out.
If Temple can't play at Auburn on Sept. 23, another MAC team will be found, Richard said. He said Auburn expects to hear from the MAC this week."

We've been trying to dump some of our slaughterhouse games - so I'd be surprised if we accommodated them (though it was a $600k deal).
I hope it's not us.
i know its not Toledo, our schedule is set.
Well, the Cards were beat 63-3 at Jordan-Hare last year so I am assuming we won't be making that trip anytime soon!

Most likely not us, but it is possible. McNeese State is tentatively set for that date, but I have been told before that the contract is not signed yet. I have been wondering why and maybe it has something to do with this. I know that Toledo really wants a 6th home game in 2006, but if the deal is sweet enough............
It might be Ohio if Auburn can give us enough mullah.
Thankfully, not EMU!!

Our non-conf slate is set with:
Louisiana-Lafayette
Michigan State
Navy
Northwestern

That's enough, thank you.

Um, was the combined record of these schools in 2005 even .500?

Louisiana-Lafayette: 6-5
Michigan State: 5-6
Navy: 7-4
Northwestern: 7-4

Combined record: 25-19 (.568)
I think that is a challenging schedule. Most of those teams are probably better than their record indicated.
Miami's is set...
Northwestern
@Purdue
@Syracuse
@sUCks
i think i herad somewhere we (UB) was speaking with them about a game. i just vaguely remember a post about this somewhere, i could be wrong thouhg.
I don't think it is us but all we have on the 23rd is Indiana State. However, it is a home game which we have problems getting so unless they come to DeKalb(which would be great) or the MAC forces it upon us. We also tried to even the schedule out a bit because we were originally to play LSU,tOSU and Iowa(Yikes!) so LSU game is put off a couple years.

As of now this appears to be our OOC schedule(dates subject to change):

September 2 @ Ohio State
Sept 9 Temple
September 23 Indiana State
October 28 @ Iowa(this date seems odd but not out of the question)
Unlikely to be Ohio...just recently scheduled Missouri for 9/23.
If N. Illinois was added to be Iowa's 12th game, that will be the date. The Big Ten schedules are set far in advance, and that day was likely originally Iowa's conference bye week. Same with UM-Ball State the next week.

its a money game though. I don't think that Stutz wants to take anymore money games with out getting a game either in the glass bowl or at a place like ford field. i wouldn't want to give up a home game, especially with a new QB at the helm.

Well there is talk that Iowa dropped the WMU and NIU games next year on the NIU board. Not sure if this is legit or not. Has any WMU fans heard anything?

This is from the NIU board:

'Hawks add Montana to gridiron sked
The University of Iowa has apparently dropped Western Michigan and Northern Illinois from its football schedule the next two years and picked up a game against NCAA Division I-AA Montana.

According to the Great Falls Tribune, the Hawkeyes will open the 2006 schedule against the Grizzlies Sept. 2 at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa was scheduled to play Western Michigan.

''Iowa gave us an offer we couldn't refuse,'' Montana athletics director Jim O'Day told the Tribune.

The 2007 opener against Northern Illinois also has been removed from the schedule at http://www.hawkeyesports.com and replaced by TBD (to be determined). There were talks about moving that game to Soldier Field.

Montana went 8-4 last year, including a first-round loss to Cal Poly in the I-AA playoffs. Northern Iowa has played Montana four times, all losses.'

Looks like Iowa JUST dropped us.

P.S. I thought the Big 10/11 had an agreement with the MAC? Then they go and drop us to play...Montana? WTF? Looks like this Chryst deal is only good for some teams. 03-no

01-france <-- Chryst to Big 10/11

Looks like Iowa JUST dropped us. Now we may be open for the Auburn game with someone to fill the Indiana State slot.

Iowa dropped you from the 2007 schedule, not 2006.
