Looks like everybody is doing fairly well at this point (relatively speaking). Seeing a lot of 3 stars coming to MAC schools next fall, that's a great sign.

BG seems to have picked up a couple of nice athletes, noticed EMU has nabbed three kids from the same school. Seems like Ohio is kind of down right now, wonder if that is a trickle down effect from the Solich debacle. WMU seems to be taking a lot of JUCO's as well as other schools. Call it what you will, I call it aspirin (treating the symptoms for a quick cure instead of diagnosing the long-term problem).

Really like Toledo, Miami(OH) and NIU right now.

Looks like everyone is positioning themselves for a mass exodus to the big east or the big teneleven. ;-) Or not.
we can only hope that at some point we get into a major conferance. i don't quite know if we are close to big ten caliber yet, but the big east could be a good move in the next few years.
Some days I think we are fortunate to be a D-1 school. The MAC is perfect for NIU.

Agreed. We should be grateful for what we have. It actually is very good considering the profile of our school and the economic realities of being a mid-major program. It sure beats what our sister schools in EIU, WIU and SIU have to deal with in terms of football.
i do agree with you guys, i think the mac is the best place at the moment. however, i dont think we should rest on out laurels and say that it will be the best forever; if a situation arises in the future where we can jump to a higher profile conference, we'd be silly to pass. right now tho, aside from football and wrestling, we have very few bright spots athletically as a whole, and we would probably be a bottom feeder football team in a bcs conference at the moment anyway. not trying to diss us, we mite be fairly competitive since recreuiting would likely increase, but we would probably do pretty poorly.
