I know there is absolutely no shot of him coming to Dekalb to play basketball but still, wishful thinking.

It's said he's going to community college for a year and then going to play for Bradley.
He's from Bartonville, which is just a few mins from Peoria. Bradley's program is undergoing a bit of a revival, and a talented kid like this will help even further.
Bradley fans support their team consistently drawing 8,000 to 9,000.
Combine that with their success over the years and you can see why he would pick Bradley over us. Plus, the MVC gets much more publicity and is viewed as a much better basketball conference than the MAC.
The MAC is pretty good in basketball, but the MVC is by far the best mid major.....heck The Valley is a better league than the Big 12 this year IMO (and might get more tourney bids).

And Bradley I would imagine is a fun place to play....a lot of those local Peoria area kids, and they LOVE their hoops in that town.

The big problem is you have to live in the dump of a town Peoria, with nothing close to civilization shorter than 3 hours away!

I was thinking the same thing. Well played.
one man's dump is another man's home town hood.

So true.

These two factors make it really tough for us when we're going up against Bradley, ISU or SIU for a recruit.
