HOWARD STERN IS LIVE ON THE AIR RIGHT NOW!
Really? Oh, what ever should I do? Maybe leave work, head to a bar and celebrate?

Why am I still here? I must go run out and listen right now!!!

:withstupid: 01-wingedeagle

Who gives a frip? This pertains to the MAC how?

For me, I'll stick with O&A on XM202 if I need some "shock jock" listening. That way I don't have to bolt a giant receiver to my dash...

You beat me to it.

"When I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things." St. Paul

Stern is childish and frivolous.
I'll stick to Man Cow Muller thank you very much!
Geez, tough crowd.

Stern doesn't interest me in the slightest, but short of not marking the topic NMR, I don't see a reason to pounce on the thread's originator.
I love both Stern and O&A....give the guy a break. 04-rock
Gee, what are the odds he'll talk to a stripper or porn star today? Maybe if we're really lucky we can *listen* to a guy telling us that he's looking at boobies.

*yawn*

I really don't understand the allure.

Because this is a MAC board, we don't necessarily need some unknowing shill for SIRIUS satellite radio spreading the hype gospel.

I wanted a sausage......
well i just figured i would share with my new MAC friends...
I was just over joyed after a several week layoff to hear him testing out his new place today... I forgot what i was going to make a post about and just went for it!

:domokun:
Hey Now!
on a simmilar not will the mac sign a contract with either sattalite comapny to brodcast games??? It would be nice to here the radio feeds online... especially while tailgating
The best parts of the Stern show are the celebrity guests (no-holds-barred questions), the game show-type bits (asking models simple quiz questions to show how dumb they are) and the news commentary during the last hour. Like him or hate him, his delivery and style - even though much of it is 'juvenile/potty' humor - is why he's so popular. The many rip-off "shock jocks" that try to imitate that humor end up sounding so forced and bland. That said, I think the show did slip a little after Jackie Martling left.
Hey, any mention of Sirius Satellite Radio is okay by me as SSR occupies a significant portion of my rather meager investment portfolio...and the stock hasn't been doing squat!!

So, all you Howard Stern fans (personally, I can't stand him), get out there buy as many SSR units as needed. :towel:
I've had XM for a couple years now, and I'm not switching. Sorry, can't help ya out. ;-)

Hit the nail right on the head. 04-rock

Stern is the kind of guy that is very entertaining as an individual. He's the kind of guy that can make a off hand comment in a bar, and instead of being offending, he will make you laugh.

My best friend in elementary school was like that. I would help him out on his paper route as his mom drove him around, and he would come up with all types of put downs for our classmates. I transcribed over 300 put downs into one journal alone.

He would make fun of the fat kids in school "Wide Load Derek Rhodes", "Big Brantley"....the wierd kids "Jeremey", "Marty". Heck all it took for me to crack up laughing was one enthusiastic exclamation of "Marty!" by my friend.

Its a humorous quality that not everybody has. I think you need to be a funny person to sell any comedy/entertainment act.

I hate it when I'm out with a friend that makes sexist comments or points out every girl walking down the street. One innuendo without specifics here and there is fine, but its like wow boobies whip-dee-do.

Stern would be one of the few guys that I could acutally enyoy listening to sexist stuff from.
I know my typing has been less then desirable. but

If anyone out there has listened to sports on a sat. radio you know that it displays the score of the game at all times along with giving you the option of listening to the home or away broadcast. The big name confrences all have deals. The MAC should get on board and get their games on Sat. XM or sirius.
I think a MAC deal with Sirius would be the only thing that would lead me to change from XM. I'd love to see that happen, but (I think) they are currently limited in the amount of stations that they can broadcast, so it's not likely that Sirius would drop the SEC or XM would drop the Big1Ten (for example) for a MAC deal.

Any of you XM guys see the new radios XM debuted today at the CES? Some really sweet stuff. Tiny, with 50 hours of recording (TIVO-like scheduling), full live satellite capabilities, etc. I may have to trade in the Roady and it's clunky portable unit when these come out this spring...
