I haven't spent much time watching USC the last couple years, so last night's championship game was the first time I got to see Reggie Bush.... I thought this guy was awesome - tremendous size and great cutting ability - BUT - then I realized that it wasn't Reggie Bush making those moves but Glendale White.

When I finally saw Reggie Bush, I thought man, he is pretty small...in fact he reminded me alot of Garret Wolfe. From what I saw... Bush played very solidly but, IMO, did not live up to the hype. Anyway, Bush seems to be very similar to Ladainian Tomlinson (which of course isn't bad at all)

Anyway, anybody else think that had Garret Wolfe been in USC's offense that he would be as successful as Bush???? Is Wolfe that much smaller than Bush??? Just my homerism showing through I know.

From what I've seen of Reggie Bush the past two seasons I would say he is going to be a blend of Barry Sanders and Walter Payton in the NFL. That is about as high of praise as can be mustered for a young running back. Bush is going to be mega-special if he maintains his health.
This is in no way smack. I can't believe Bush when I watch him. I've seen about 6 USC games this year and every play you're on edge. Wolfe is a pretty damn good player, but when you watch Bush typically was like watching V Young last night.
Bush makes all his big runs to the outside and doesn't go up the middle very often. Bush is an overall faster back the Wolfe, but Wolfe has a better inside game than Bush and can find the holes in the line better.
USC truly splits time between Bush and White. White gets the inside carried, Bush outside. They alternate then very well, and the, like I had hoped for NIU this year with AJ and GW, pound the defense then run by them.

By the way, Vince Young was amazing last night!

Bush is 6'0'' 200
Wolfe is 5'7'' 177

Wolfe is great but no where near the class of Bush.

I would love to see what Wolfe could do as well behind the Tojans line - it is simply awesome.

I think Wolfe would have done about as good as Bush did if he was on USC. He would be getting the accolades that Bush is now getting. And on USC Wolfe wouldn't have had so many carries, so he would be stronger when he was in there, and would have been less likely to get injured. Bush is probably a little better just because he's a little bigger while still being fast and elusive. I think Wolfe is nearly as good as Bush.

The key word being "nearly" Not to take anything away, but i would've thunk he would've been MORE likely to get injured. Even the PAC-10 (which isn't known for defense) has better defense than the MAC (bigger, stronger, faster players).

I don't know what you smoke - but I want some!! ;-)

Bush is going to be a Top 1 or 2 pick. Wolfe would be lucky if he goes in the first round, and probably won't go in the first 2 rounds.

If Wolfe was "nearly as good" the football experts would see it.

I don't think he would have been more likely to get injured, when you're only carrying the ball 15 times a game. Also, being as small as Wolfe is, he doesn't take a lot of direct hits from these guys that are 6.4", and that wouldn't change in the PAC-10. The tackling would have been a little better on average, but he would have had a better O-line too, and USC had a more consistent passing threat to take pressure off the running game.
Look at the All-Americans leaving this year - Bush, LenDale White, DeAngelo Williams.

The sea is parting for Wolfe next year.

The sea would part for Omar if he'd stay (the two AA QBs, Matt and Vince, are going NFL).
