This might not have that much of an effect on NIU (b/c it'd be pretty unrealistic to be a part of the playoff at this time) but as a college football fan its great to see someone finally talking about it who actually has the ability to do something about it.

As a fan of the sport, it's a shame to me there has never been a true champion decided by a playoff. That the bowl system makes the regular season more important is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It makes it completely irrelevant for 110 teams is what it does. It makes it important for the 5 or 6 that have a chance after week 5 to play in the so called national championship. And even then, a team like Auburn can go undefeated and not play for the national championship so what makes the season important to them? not very much in my opinion.
