Now here's something a lot more realistic. And a move I'd very much like to see.
I predict many MAC fans would back the move ... lmfao
I'm sure by 2010 BUGS fans will get tired of their basketball team finishing last in the MAC East every year and will welcome a chance to go back to the West division.

Ouch. That hurt. A lot. Really.

Well, except for two things ...

1) I really don't want Buffalo to leave the MAC.

2) I couldn't care less about college basketball.
as long as we're lowering our expectations for our school why dont we shoot for the sun belt.. that way we can still play football too 02-13-banana

I don't know... You'd have to get used to beating the mighty Troy State on a yearly basis. 05-mafia

The A-10 is a lowering of expectations? Where does this mentality come from? I don't understand it at all.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but there are some conferences that actually get more than one team in the NCAA basketball tournament. Crazy, huh? But it really happens. That's where I want to be. But this conference seems to think that what's important is adding god-awful football-only teams and mid-December, weekday afternoon bowl games against crappy teams.

Playing in the A-10 in football would not be that big of a step down. New Hampshire was the #1 ranked team in I-AA at the end of the regular season. I'll take the I-AA playoffs over a Toronto bowl any day.

No, but we did beat Troy University

I couldn't care less about playing some scrub team from the ninth best football conference in some weekday afternoon bowl game in some city you couldn't pay me to visit, so I guess we're even.
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Adding Buffalo was one of the worst mistakes the MAC has ever made(right up there with Temple and UCF) and I'm sure if the MAC officials could do it over they would tell Buffalo to get lost.

Son, we are far from even. 05-stirthepot

I couldn't agree more with this assessment! 04-rock

Yeah, I'd much rather hang my hat on a Tuesday night NIT road loss. 01-wingedeagle

I'll assume this is jealously because UB knocked NIU out of the MAC tourney each of the last two years. And UB didn't lose on a Tuesday night. You're thinking of Miami and Kent. UB lost in the second round to St. Joseph's, which played in the NIT championship game.

But seriously, are you really telling me that you'd rather play the 85th-ranked (Sagarin) team on the Wednesday before Christmas in Mobile, Alabama or the 72nd-ranked (Sagarin) team on the day after Christmas in Detroit than be in the I-AA playoffs? In I-AA you can win a national championship. In the MAC you can do no better than go to Detroit or Mobile. What kind of goal is that? You guys played in a bowl last year. You beat a team that undoubtedly was ranked even lower than 85 in a game no one watched or attended. Explain to me what you gained from that.
Can't speak for HuskieDan, but our bowl trips were two of the greatest father-son experiences I could have ever hoped for. Certainly made it all worthwhile to me.
I'm just guessing, but I bet you can bond with your progeny just as easily in Chattanooga as you can in Mobile or Detroit.
Buffalo wins *one* MAC basketball Championship game (and NOTHING else) and you're suddenly too good for this conference?

Arrogant much?
