Right down to the end, everyone gave their all. Congrats on a good game, good crowd, well played. Congrats on a great season.
The Tigers played a very good game - congrats on the victory

Akron had some early opportunities in the first half to jump out but could not convert. Once DeAngelo got going, he was difficult to stop. In my opinion, he is the #2 RB in the nation behind Reggie Bush and joins a long list of future NFL stars who have now participated in the Motor City Bowl

Congrats to Akron for not giving up, you made your program and the league look good. Congrats again on your MAC title. By the looks of the football recruiting wars I have following, Akron is doing very well in that department again too

I wish we had more MAC teams in bowls this year, but the two we had did well and I am certainly looking forward to having that third bowl bid next season.
I agree. Great game on both sides!

Akron sure proves the old cliche, "it ain't over til it's over."

Yes, all smack aside, Memphis played well, and certainly deserved the win. They were very patient early when Akron was controlling the clock, and used some big plays to quickly turn the game around.

As those that have seen my postings know, I didn't think Akron was a very strong MAC champ representative, and although they looked to be struggling at times today I came away with a lot of respect for how they kept plugging away late when it looked hopeless.

By they way, although not as well attended as most MCB's, I thought that the crowd looked very respectable....lotsa Akron fans and around 38-40K I would guess, although I'm not sure if they'll announced tickets sold (like the Hawaii Bowl), or actual attendance.
The only mention of attendance or ticket sales was from a few days ago. The MCB said they'd sold over 50,000 tickets at that point. I can find nothing about actual attendance in any box score.

I was so hoping Akron would come back and win it.....especially when the Tigers (potentially) prematurely dumped the Gatorade on their coach.
ESPN listed the game attendance as 50,616. I have to think that the number was ticket sales, although I would've guessed that 40K or so were actaully in attendance....the Akron fans really filled up one side of the field.....had to be over 15,000 of 'em easy.
