Very sparse turnout, looked similar to average crowd we get.

Sound system is brutal. Severe feedback with girl was signing National Anthem.

Craig Reichel continues to impress. He will be a future star. Todd Peterson is a completely different player from years past. The Huskies are really starting to look like a team, everyone is contributing.

Coils and HMM, good luck with your respective ladies!
seemed like there were a lot of turnovers tonight, and sloppy rebounding. Cory Sims = MVP of the team, hes awesome. Had some very nice steals and I THINK he led the team in scoring, not sure. But he did great tonight I thought, and yeah TP is not the same as he was...

Give Mike McKinney some props tonight. You can tell he was playing through some pain tonight, but he still was working his butt off posting up. He had I think 12 points and another real nice slam. Rand played well tonight, he hit a 3 and had a nice layup on a sweet pass from Q. He had 8 points (i think).

Sims was the MVP tonight for sure.
What do you guys mean when you say TP is not the same player? Better or worse?

Wow we barely got 1,000 to show up tonight.

Students are on winter break while all these other schools in state are dealing with finals this week.

He seems like a more complete player. In the past it seemed like he just hung out behind the 3 line, now he is doing alot more rebounding and being a team leader.

I also like how he came and shoot hands with some of the students in the stands after the game.
It's a good statement about this teams improvement that they can beat a ok team from a ok conference by 20 while playing a crap game. 4-1 is nice, hopefully we can at least split the next 2 @ UIC and vs. Kansas State.
To add to the Peterson comments: he seems more comfortable playing down low. He's obviously not a post player, but with out lack of size we need him down low fighting for rebounds. He seemed more natural than before.

I finally got to see Reichl in person. He's much more smooth than I thought. I think he'll be a solid player.

Why does McKenzie play so many minutes? Ok, I know we only have 3 big men, but watching him is brutal. By the way, if we ever need to match up size, Reichl and Hughes would look good on the floor together...only problem is we'd lose the only depth we have and McKenzie would see more time. Darn Catch 22s.

I thought the team looked different than last year. In fact, I thought they looked much better than I've seen them for some time. That was nice to see. Hopefully they're developing

By the way, after the game, McKinney said he felt about 80%, but Judson said he thought he was being modest.

That is somewhat discouraging with the long layoff we had. I wonder if he will ever be able to shake this the rest of the year. Maybe it would be best to shut him down for the remainder of non-conference schedule, or until he is 100 percent healthy.

Official attendance was listed at 1,020. That is brutal. I certainly hope Coach Judson and the players realize that this is not a comment on their play this year but is more of a reflection of this busy time of month. Plus, many people could have been getting errands done in advance of the snowstorm today. However, I am really disappointed that only 1,020 locals went to the game. I envy people who live in the DeKalb/Sycamore area who have the ability to go to every game. I live and work in Chicago and can only make the weekend games. If I lived there, I would go to each and every game. What a shame we are not getting more support from the locals. I certainly hope that it will pick up in January. I will probably take a couple half-days off so I can attend at least a couple weekday games.
Its just like football and any other sport, you have to win and create excitement. The bball team has squandered the last 4 years with a new facility. They basically are starting over. There has been no momentum in the last 20 years. Lets hope we beat UIC and go from there.
There were a few spurts in last twenty years and teams with TJ Lux were competitive. Beating final four Wisky in Evans is a "recent" benchmark.

However , your'e on target for it's been way too long since an NIU bball crowd was that pumped.

Can you believe DePaul beat WForest in Carolina...... but we dare not get ahead of ourselves, right ?

Poor DickieV.
Anyone think of him as a not so secret ACC shill?
Maestranzi deserves a lot credit for last night's game. Not only did he play an error-free game running the offense, but his defense against Woods of Wright State was outstanding! Woods came into the game averaging 19 ppg and was held to 5 (and 2 of those came off a drive against Paradise)! AM would not let him get to the basket and totally frustrated him.

Hopefully, people are starting to realize what a solid point guard AM has become!

Vitale gave the MAC some credit on an article posted on ESPN.com saying the MAC is the most underrated conference in the nation for basketball.

I saw someone from the main MAC board say that the next two games will go a long way in saying whether NIU will be an at-large possibility in March. I strongly agree with that assessment, if we can win the next 2, Look out.
