UT Rocket--I'm not making this up--read this from your board:
So what does this mean for sports, I believe that while the MAC is a great conference, we would have the ability to make a case to move to a bigger and better conference. Let's face it, quality of the school does play into conference selection and this will greatly enhance UT's standing in this regard. Just something to keep your eye on as this merger gets more steam._________________
And the thread continues about the Big East.
Merging with MUO is just a small piece of the whole picture that Toledo needs to accomplish to get themselves to a better conference than the MAC. No one is saying that MUO all by itself puts Toledo in that position......at least no one that really knows anything and is one of the die-hard Rocket fans.
So be careful in reading into the situation more than what it is. Many Rocket fans do have aspirations of going to a better conference, but the MUO thing is just a small piece of trying to get there.

I agree......and yes, I am serious. Bring Bowling Green, Miami, CMU, and WMU with us. Add 6 other schools from C-USA/BE and you have yourself a very nice conference with a lot of talent.

Yeah - and 3 years ago if I told you that South Florida, Cincy, and Louisville all would be joing the Big East you would have told me that I was crazy!
The MAC most likely will not be in it's current form in 10 years - I for one would like NIU to be proactive not reactive when the next realignment wave comes.
