Hey all!

Looks like we're up and running with the new server now. Cool! let's get caught up on men's MAC hoops...

Yesterday...

Ohio wins @ Marist
Miami wins @ Oakland
Buffalo wins @ Liberty

Tonight...

Akron wins at home over Denison
CMU loses at Dayton
Ball State wins at IUPUI...good win for the Cards
EMU losing at home in the first half to Youngstown State

Big games this coming Saturday! Should be fun! 02-13-banana
EMU pulled off a W. 6-1 in the last two nights for the MAC. While the opponents were not the toughest, 6-1 is good any way you slice it.

Updated MAC basketball standings on http://www.vandelaysports.com.

MAC East - 23-9

MAC West - 13-15
yeah a good stretch for the MAC. it will be interesting this saturday with some games that could be barometers of certain programs (at least in the young season thus far).
I think our game at SIU will be a big one. They seem to be off to a slower start than usual, but they always seem to be tough, especially at home.

But first, we have IPFW at home tomorrow night..
Looks like a good stretch of wins for the MAC.

FYI, Ohio's game @ Rhode Island will be televised Saturday. It will be on ONN if anyone here gets that. But, it will be on a tape delay for some reason. The game starts @ 7...the TV broadcast will start @ 7:30.
Nice games on Saturday. We will find out if Ohio, Buffalo, Miami, and Kent State can prove that the MAC isn't down and grap some wins that impress some people. Very tough games. Rhode Island was a game that I had Ohio losing when the schedule came out. Rhode Island is a lot better this year at 5-1 including a win over Providence. O'Shea comes back to URI where he started his coaching career as Skinner's assistant. A soid win over URI would put Ohio in the top 35. They are 37th this week and trying to overtake mid majors that have already put impressive OOC wins on the board. Buffalo has the same chance to move up with a significant win.

I agree that the Kent/SIU game is a big one for the Flashes. We (the MAC) have not fared well at all against the MVC so beating SIU would be nice, but it won't be easy.

Ohio, Miami and UB also have tough games. Last year Ohio struggled on the road and the bracket-buster game @ Detroit turned the season around. My goal for the Bobcats is to put together an impressive at-large bid resume for Ohio and others in the MAC so games like @ Rhode Island, @ Rutgers, etc. are match-ups that can really impact the chances of such. While wins in these games are not mandatory they sure would be nice!
We have played a couple of games per year against the MVC for the last few years and last year's loss to SIU in the BB was our first loss in a while to an MVC opponent. We need the payback Saturday.
