Good game Rocket fans!
I was really disappointed with the Rockets in the first half - and so were the rest of the fans. Whatever Stan told them in the locker room must have worked - they stormed back and nearly caught up. Just need two halves like the second and we'd be a better team....

Kind of an exciting game - makes going to it worth it!!!
It's like a repeat of South Carolina.
It's a repeat of a lot of games from last year. They fall into a rut, and can't seem to break out of it. NIU came to play and that run to make it like 24-7 set the tone. All NIU had to do was weather any storms and hold on.

I just saw that MAC Basketball Preview the other day on FSN. Buckley, from BSU, said no matter what you have to play hard each possession while in conference play. Even though early season, this game might be costly at season's end. I do not think you could not downplay the magnitude of this game. IMO, I felt the West was going to come down to BSU and NIU this year, and UT would be in the mix. But with Stovall gone, this is a two horse race in the West.

NIU took a big step forward, and could hold the trump card especially with the other game to be in Dekalb. Face the facts, NIU was missing one of their best players (McKinney) and have struggled to win on the road (0-9 in MAC Road games last year & blown out by Mizzou St this year).
As Ingram said in his post-game interview they came out with no heart. And you have to have that in every game to win and they didn't.
