The MAC certainly has its problems, and some of them will probably be with us for quite a while.
However, with respect to the most important issue, the MAC appears to be doing quite well.
I think the most important issue is providing good, exciting, competitive games that also showcase topflight talent.
Look at the last 3 MAC games on national TV--Bowling Green-Toledo, Toledo-Northern-Illinois, and Akron-Northern Illinois.
All three of these games were great for any football fan to watch.
I would submit that over the last few years, the MAC does as good a job if not better of providing good TV games than many other conferences. I don't believe any other "non-BCS" Conference (and perhaps some "BCS" Conferences as well) surpasses the MAC in providing good, competitive, exciting TV games with talented players.
