On their board there is a MACC Game thread that is already 3 pages long and over 120 posts. Apparently most of their fans decided to stay home and watch the game on TV because they can't be at the game if they are posting on the boards.
And they wonder why they have to win the MACC in order to get a bowl bid. Let's not let this happen to us for the GMAC Bowl. Let's get as many people to that bowl game as possible to show that we travel.
They actually started the thread yesterday I think.. they have done it for the last 3 games... It was at 2 pages earlier this afternoon. The actual game started at the end of the 2nd page of the thread.

My post was not meant to be an insult in the first place. It is a fact of life in the MAC as attendance to road or neutral games are not very good, some schools have bad attendance to home games even.
An observation that if you can't travel to a MACC game when you have been waiting for this for so many years in a row and saying that is why you have trouble getting an at-large bowl bid is not meant as an insult. My comments about hoping that UT has a good showing in Mobile also means that we are just as capable of a bad showing and I don't want to see that happen.
Second, my post was on the UT board not the NIU board. You shouldn't complain about what is said if it wasn't directed at you on the NIU board.
Third, G-Force tells me to go back to the "other" board. At least the NIU fans posting over there don't act like an idiot like you......yes, that is a personal attack against you. I don't care if someone decides to delete it or take discipline on me for it either.

I understand not everyone is going to make it and I did not call any one person out. I would also like to say that if you read my last paragraph of my initial post I hint to the fact that this could happen to Toledo in the GMAC Bowl too and I hope it doesn't happen.
You NIU fans need to stop twisting everything a UT fan says because you are so dis-gruntled against us. You beat us this year.

Well, it is a week before finals so there are plenty of STUDENTS at NIU that had tests, projects, labs and other papers that need to be done/finished. Some of the classes also give finals the week before. I am not sure you don't know this but the point of college is to get an education not travel to a thursday night football game(even if it is a historic event). Maybe it is a Toledo thing where being a STUDENT is not important?
Many of the alumni on our board have gone to several games on the road and could not take any more time off for a Thursday night game.
If you don't like that answer, I don't really give a ******. The announcers sure seemed to understand(and they didn't even know about finals coming up). Oh, by the way, we had 7000 or more that attended the Michigan game so you can't say we don't travel to a place not all that far from where this game was held. I would say the 13-15000 to NU but that is difficult to justify as traveling.
Enjoy your trip to 'Bama. See you this Saturday. Hopefully it will be a good game with the good guys(NIU) coming out on top.

Boy you seem to be really irritated. Again, I said that this could happen to Toledo as well.
Give me your excuses about students having exams, but I know students can't make up even 50% of your normal attendance.
Give me your excuses about alumni using up their time off of work earlier in the year and not having time left. That just shows that the MACC Game isn't that big of a deal for you all. I personally know of several people that are Rocket fans and have no time left to take off work and are doing their best to get by that to travel down to Mobile for the GMAC bowl.
Excuses are excuses, but bowl reps don't give a crap about excuses. I am sorry that you think I am singling out NIU and talking bad about NIU and it's fans, but it wasn't meant that way. And anyway this was on a UT forum, not a NIU or MAC (as a whole) forum.
Several of my friends from Toledo went dressed in UT attire and were asked repeatedly why they were there since UT didn't make it. Good thing they were attendance being what it wasn't.
